I think I did good with this buy.

My snipe was hundreds higher than it went for. I love it when sellers don't really know what they have. No mention in the title or description of the Sovereign 460 back. Or is it not as tough as I think it is.

Doug great buy nice card you stole it man,,

Abravefan11 03-04-2012 07:52 PM

Great card and well below what I would have said it would sell for.

I would never post a link to an auction I won before I had the item in hand.

FrankWakefield 03-04-2012 08:32 PM

I agree with each of the posts above, Doug. Especially Dan's.

I was watching it, but in the air when it ended.. had forgotten about the fact it was Sov 460 until after I landed and never placed a bid prior to take off. Good to know I most likely would not have won it in any case.

Dan,

I "won" this auction last week, paid immediately, and kept my fingers crossed. After a few days, I got the dreaded, " I sold the card locally, my apologies" b***s***. Sort of waiting for it to show up on pick up thread.

I have been on ebay almost 13 yrs. I have given 2-3 negatives and each was for blatantly stealing. If this (as the OP) happened to me, it might be the next one I gave...

Report them as a non-performing seller. They'll probably get a suspension.

The 460 is home. Thanks for the advice (Dan and Frank) on posting a link of a card I didn't have yet. That was dumb, but it's here now.

Great card Doug but your scanner seriously sucks.

Phillies*phan 03-08-2012 05:56 AM

Thanks, I think.

GrayGhost 03-08-2012 07:06 AM

Glad you got it safely. BEAUTIFUL looking card and a great deal

slidekellyslide 03-08-2012 07:17 AM

Congrats Doug. I've seen it happen a few times when someone posts an auction right after winning a bargain and the seller backs out because someone contacts him with a better offer.

Great card!

FrankWakefield 03-08-2012 07:33 AM

I think a great aspect of you getting that card is that it may well have been under-appreciated where it was, and now the card has found a truly appreciative home. And maybe some folks who've looked at this thread will realize that a prudent path is to not deem a card acquired until it is in hand. Who of us never had a gal agree to a date, only to later call to cancel? Dan's right about how sometimes a better offer undoes a deal.
