Photo identification #

I have a new york times photo that has a # on the back that im sure was used when filing it. Is there any way to find out when it was taken or filed by using that #? Has anyone ever tried doing this?

Don't know about the number stuff, but the image is definitely from 1937.

Hey graig are you sure its from 1937? I was always under the impression it was from 1939

Joey- if it was from 1939, he would have the 1939 patch on his sleeve. It's well known image from 1938.

When asking a question about the back, mightn't it be a good idea to show the back?

The patches were different - the 1938 patch was to promote the 1939 New York World's Fair whereas 1939 was the centennial patch.
