Posted By: Todd (nolemmings)
I have this John McGraw card I won on teletrade last year. It was described as a 1929 issue, and appears to be Cuban in origin. This is my first stab at uploading an image, so please bear with me. Anyone know precise year of issue, number in set. approximate value, etc.?

Posted By: Bob Lemke
Good Morning Jaime, We added some cards from this set to the 2002 Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards, and have added two more (now three) since. The country of origin is El Salvador, not Cuba. Hope this helps.

Posted By: Jaime Leiderman
Thanks for the info.!

It's amazing how a little poor country like El Salvador went on and made Baseball inserts.
Also considering a lot less of Baseball popularity than in Cuba.
El Salvador national sport is Soccer.

Mr. Lemke, Is there a possibility on next Standard Catalog to cover Venezuelan vintage and modern regional issues besides the topps ones?

Thanks again

JL

Posted By: Todd (nolemmings)
Bob, I promise to buy the 2002 first time I see it. Now, could you give me a head's up on the set description and pricing for the set. FYI, I paid about$80.00 for the card, which I believe is in EX+/NM condition. Any more info would be appreciated. Todd

Posted By: Jaime Leiderman
Mr. Lemke

Reading both your comments here and on the new SCBC about this issue.
Hope you can correct the SCBC Spanish translation, for the one I posted earlier.
Trust me, It is EXACT.

Made a little research on Tabacalera La Morena.
Since I'm living in South America right now (Venezuela), some sources point that this Tobacco Co., could have been in Mexico, not Cuba or El Salvador.

Do you have any info. that can relate the issue to be an insert from El Salvador?

Thanks again, and hope I can help on this issue.

Jaime
