Dogs and baseball. Who are the players?

Found this pic online and Boston terriers are my favorite breed. Was wondering if the players could be identified?

Harry Wolter

The player holding the dog is Harry Wolter, who has T205, T202, and a few Zeenut cards (as well as a few pins/discs). Graduate of Santa Clara University. Long time coach at Stanford University.

Would the other player be Larry Gardner? The mirrored writing above his head is the begining of
Gardner.

Yes, that is Larry Gardner. It used to be quite common for baseball teams to have canine mascots, and include them in team photos. I've posted a lot of these photos on a lengthy thread at Baseball-Fever: http://www.baseball-fever.com/showth...e-Deadball-Era

Cool photo, but not a Boston Terrier. Looks like a pitbull to me.

I am not trying to hijack this thread at all. This is one of my favorite topics though, athletes with their animals (or team mascots). This is my favorite.

Definitely a Boston. This is how the bostons in the early 1900's looked. I have bostons and am a veterinarian so quite familiar with the breed.

Post war, but does this count?

(In all seriousness, I love seeing the mascots in those old team photos.)

That is the coolest photo ever. My wife and I love dogs and Lou has the best smile and is so handsome (so says wifey).
