1967 topps high number runs

I was thinking the other day about a story I remember hearing that a dealer on the west coast had multiple runs of uncirculated 67 highs. Minus the Robinson and 1 other card. Thus goes back 20-20 years. Anyone we info on that? I had thought the highs didn't make it out there so if this is true maybe vending?

thx bill

67 high #'s

I remember a 1967 Topps baseball high series wax case selling back in the late 90s or early 2000s.

Wow. Hadn't heard that one, surprised a news flash hasn't been written about that. Many years ago I had the chance to buy a 1st or 2nd series cello box. No printing on the cellos. I thing 4 of each were found in a case. Ended up buying some cards via some that had been opened. there was a sequence to the cellos, so the mantles were in a run that could be determined.

I remember a few vending boxes in the late 80s, but I don't think there was ever that much unopened wax found. That would have been considered a major find.

It was auctioned off at one of the major auction houses...either Mile High, Memory Lane or Superior Sports Auctions. My timeline could be off in that it was sometime in the 1990s...but I do recall it because it was such a terrific unopened wax case...1967 High Series! If I owned it...I would be sitting on it: remaining unopened not bringing it to market.

When I first started in the organized hobby there was a story in SCD about Gary Sawatzki (sic) and Duane Schroen (sic) had broken a 67 Hi # Case and had ZERO Brooks Robinsons.
