Babe Ruth Goudey 'is it real'+ paypal question

I went out on a limb for the Babe Ruth Goudey and cards in the link below. Based on what I see (and I know it's a small picture) the card looks good. However, the lack of feedback the seller has makes me nervous so my question is, before i send my payment, does anyone see anything wrong with the card and if something does goes wrong with this purchase, should I worried or will Paypal refund me? Any help would be greatly appreciated-I usually don't bid under these circumstances but the Ruth looked too good not to go for. Thanks! -Frank

Think you know the answer, but, you don't seem to want to admit it quite yet. :)

If it seems to good to be true it usually is.

Sorry, you will be disappointed. And you don't really have any claim that he misrepresented the cards, all he did was over value them. Fortunately for you, buyers can do no wrong in the eyes of Paypal. So you can claim they smell spicy and will get your money back. Or don't pay in the first place.

Either way, in the future don't try to gamble if you don't have the cajones to lose the bet. Do your homework and worrying BEFORE you pull the trigger. There are plenty of times where the seller materially misrepresents the item. This is not one of them.

Thank you for your responses- my question though is why? The Ruth in the picture is, by my judgement, real (which of course does not mean it's the one he is sending). I understand it's a gamble but besides the low feedback, what are the red flags? Again, I appreciate the responses, i'm just trying to gain some information which I can use to proceed on future purchases. Thanks again.

The Ruth in the pic doesn't look like an obvious reprint, but Goudey Ruth reprints can be deceptive and I wouldn't have bid on the lot under the totality of the circumstances. One of the circumstances is I'd expect a picture of the back of the card and another is I don't want a binder full of 1992 Donrus.

I hope you end up with a genuine Goudey Ruth. Maybe a feedback of 4 just means the seller is inexperienced in advertising baseball cards.

From what I hear, if you pay with credit card/paypal you should be protected.

The red flag is that most people including the seller know that just the Ruth, if real, is a $1000+ card. Why would someone sell that and a bunch more valuable cards for a third of it? If it's too good to be true it usually (but not always) is. That is the reason.

Low feedback, card is raw, bad photo shot at angle and from a distance, price is below wholesale...put it all together and you have your answer.
