Looks to good to be real what are thoughts from fellow pennant collectors.

I haven't seen this one before, but it looks good to me. I'd guess late in Robinson's career or maybe even after. But what do I know.

This is a rookie pennant--it shows him as a first baseman.

This is an authentic pennant. It is a tough style. Robinson has a few different versions. Nice pennant.

There are 4 different Jackie Robinson Pennants that are authentic and of the era. This is one of them, and is the 2nd rarest, in my opinion. I will try to post pics of all 4, if time allows...

That said... it is probably the least valuable of the four.

I concur. Looks to be authentic. But, I hear ya .. these colors are so rich it seems too good to be true.

lost

I bid 2289 and did not get it
Not sure if I should be happy or sad

Probably happy...

But it really depends on whether you wanted it for your own collection, or to re-sell/auction it off.

It's always been a $1,200 - $1,400 pennant.... although this one is the nicest example to surface. Still, the winner paid a pretty steep price IMHO.

It was for my auction btw.

Normally I would agree but our auctions perform differently than the norm. Red color variation brought $3675 in 2017. And the other night the 1941 All Star pennant brought $12,224.

Yikes!

I'd love to see the bidding history on that 1941 All Star Pennant.

I wonder if a bunch of people were seriously in on it, or if it was just 2 guys duking it out in the end... both of whom were dead-set on winning it.

Either way, it's got to be (far and away) a record price for an All Star Game Pennant.

Just FWIW, here are the 4 Jackie Robinson Pennants from his playing days. I have a Forest Green example of the one which recently sold on eBay.

The rarest by far is the blue Portrait version (last pennant pictured). Probably just a matter of time until Mitchell & Ness mass-produces some new version of this
