Huh?

Posted By: Bob
Check out the scans of these 2 T205. Huh?

Posted By: Bill Cornell
I was wondering the same thing. This isn't the only card listed with the same scans under these 2 seller accounts; there's also a T211. Looks like the seller uses an automated tool to place listings and somehow double-listed these cards.

That T205 Kirb White is a pretty tough card. Like Wagner, Wilhelm, Fisher, and a few others, it seems to have been short-printed.

Posted By: B Hodes
I think Kirby White is a rare one. Not of the order of Hoblitzell sans stats but definitely harder than most (as you say Bill he is up there with Rowan, maybe Wilhelm and Wagner).

Posted By: jay behrens
I didn't know Honus Wagner was in the t205 set, so must be pretty rare.

Now if this morning fog would lift from my brain I'll good to go for the day.

Jay

Posted By: TBob
One seller from Massachusetts, one from Florida, yet both list within about an hour of each other and both have the same misspelling on the name "Kirk" White!

Huh?

Posted By: Nick Martinez
I see a pretty nice looking card. Is there something on the card that makes it out of the ordinary? The sellers feed back looks ok. The edges and corners appear to be chipped like most T205's. The surface looks good.
I'll bid on it and let ya guys know how it turns out. That is, if I win...

Posted By: Lee Behrens
Check both listings, Nick. The same scan of the same card from two different sellers.

Huh?

Posted By: Nick Martinez
Lee,
As a rule I do not fear too many sellers on Ebay. I will bid on a "high risk" auction if I think I can get a deal in exchange for harrasing the crooks untill they send me the card. I then usually sell the items again(hopefully for a profit). It's a gamble.
Anyway I sent the seller the following e-mail, we will see how the seller responds:

"Hello,
I have am the high bidder on your "Kirb" White card. I have a question about another auction that has the same card pictured "Item # 1870849854". This auction was posted by a seller named "bumtoys". It appears the auction was cancelled after one day. Is this seller connected to you in some way? I also noted that several of your positive feedbacks were posted by "bumtoys".
Could you please explain...

Regards,
Nick "

Posted By: Nick Martinez
Well, here is his response:

Hello and thanks for the email.

No problem.....

buymytoys and myself have been in the toy and collectible and movie
field for 20 years..during that time we have bought, sold and bid on
many items, sometimes we purchase from each other, at shows or
bidding on ebay or from our inventory.
On this occasion, he was at my establishment and we were doing some dealings.
He had been using my computer to check on items he was bidding on.
A little while after he left, I began to place some items on ebay.
I forgot that he had been using the computer and therefore did not
change back to my name..the next day, when I realized what had
happened, I telephoned his wife, informed her of the error and asked
her to cancel the bids.

This same thing happened to me about 2 years ago with another dealer...

Again, thanks for the email.

Best regards,

Marty

-He admits they are in "business" together and they "buy" things from themselves. Another shill seller. Until Ebay punishes them, they will go on. He does not seem to think there is anything wrong with it.

Huh?

Posted By: Bill Cornell
Not sure that I'd assume shill bidding in this case. This seller "030190" has not had bids placed on any of his recent cards (and he certainly has some nice ones) by buymytoys. Also, his cards mostly sell for market prices, not for the ridiculous amounts brsz-2 manipulated with his multiple ID's. His response certainly sounds plausible, as well.

Bill
