would anyone have the entire lamp or photos of one. any way i could get parts to re construct the base and lamp. etc

Here is what the two Lamps looks like in complete form (both are original). The glass chimneys and vintage etched shades are somewhat easily found on ebay. If you are patient, you should find a near perfect match.

The Base will be a far tougher proposition. Best of luck, and please keep us posted as to how this project turns out. Great pickup!

Here's another potential solution, if you want to take on a less "ambitious" project. This is my Hartford Batter Statue. Not all of these were made into lamps. This is one such example. The tree stump is not drilled out, and the circular base is original to the piece.

So if you are content with just the statue, this is a far easier alternative. If you want to take on the project of a full lamp, it will require lots more time and effort (but might also make for a more spectacular display).

KH, Nice pick up, Congrats!....I've seen them many times over the years and just recently got the Chicago mate above....you can read about it in this link to my Rose Bowl Flea trip feature.

Mark, Now that I got the pitcher I'm into them more...When you see them as a complete lamp they're very impressive. Although they have an earlier look, I believe the bib-front jersey dates it to the 1880's. It's interesting to see the variations of patinas.

There's a larger and earlier baseball lamp from I believe around the 1860's that is very archaic. I don't recall ever seeing the whole lamp but I saw the figure at the 2003 National and David Hunt told me he'd seen it as a lamp...you can see it and read my impression in the 7th paragraph of this link. I got the example below a couple years ago...you can see a 1 1/4" tall fluted stem behind his ankle which is hollow, where I believe the lamp was mounted.

That earlier Lamp that you have is a very rare and killer piece. Many congrats!

I agree that the differing patinas are very interesting. Looks like we have at least 4 variations... KHKCO's looks almost black/gunmetal, my full Lamp looks like a matte silver, my round base statue looks bronze, and yours looks to have a gold or gilt finish.

All are equally attractive in their own way.... I just wish I could have found mine for a price closer to what you paid!

You probably have one locally as well... not sure where you live, but a web search should reveal lots of options.
