Let's see some Cleveland material.

Lost in the Cubbies hoopla, and rightfully so, Cleveland has been a lovable loser too. Let's see some Cleveland players.

....I love any excuse to dig out and dust off the old diaries and journals and scrapbooks....

...look at that crowd, huh ? ......but it's more than likely because the Yankees were visiting...

Please, a Texas Tommy Joe Jackson. My favorite card, but I don't have one anymore to scan. Sigh.

Interestingly, in the '48 WS, the Boston Braves would only win two games - those which Feller started (it would be the only two post season games Feller ever appeared in). Lemon won both of his starts, while Bearden won his start and also notched a Save in relief. Doby hit .318 with a HR.

As far as members of the 1920 team go

http://www.net54baseball.com/picture...ictureid=15639http://www.net54baseball.com/picture...ictureid=14533http://www.net54baseball.com/picture...pictureid=7454

If I ever find the Guy Morton 1924 Diaz, that would be the 3rd pitcher from 1920

jp1216 10-26-2016 02:04 PM

E220 Bill Wambsganss. 1920 - only player to ever turn an unassisted triple play in World Series (or even Post Season) history. GO TRIBE!

http://www.billripken.com/bucket/E220.jpg

Ray Chapman. Died a couple months prior to the 1920 WS. GO TRIBE!

...from the Wheaties boxtops send-in set , part of the Gold Medal Foods promotion of the 1934 World Series contenders ( most of this issue is St. Louis Cardinals and Detroit Tigers but there are a surprising number of Cleveland Indians )....

Many thanks for putting up a scan of the Texas Tommy shoeless one. His uniform looks so clean as in a posed shot rather than game action.

Cleveland Indians "stuff"

The last one is pretty cool as it depicts Bob Lemon as a 3B (photo from 1942), a position he played from 1941-1942 prior to military service and his subsequent HOF pitching career. I like the first one a lot too!
