mini felt pennants

1 Attachment(s)
Hey all,
I was going through some old stuff tonight and found these two mini pennants. They're about 4" long and blank backed. I vaguely remember buying them for a few bucks at a flea market when I was in high school and completely forgot about them. I think they're really cool but know nothing about them as I'm primarily a card guy. Any info would be great. I was also wondering if they are from different sets/series/brands since one has the city and team and one is just the city.

Also, if anyone has any more, I'd be interested in picking up some more (will post on the b/s/t once someone can identify them for me.)

Thanks guys!

Bf3

I believe these are catalogued as BF3 type mini pennants. Unsure of the type number. The styles vary and include player styles and several variations of team, city and college. They are from the 1936-38 period I understand and were included in Red Man gum packets for example, as premiums.

If you search BF3, more info and example show up. There are several on Ebay for sale currently.

Those are too small to be BF3s. I believe they are 1950 American Nut and Chocolate pennants.

Yep, Chris is correct. They are AN&C felts.

Don't know if this helps you much. The Cards pennant that I bought from board member autograf several years ago was paper clipped to this advertisement. I had always assumed it was original but it does not refer to Amer. Nut & Chocolate.

Here is a complete set of nut & choc. They came in a small candy box with a corresponding pin and several pieces of candy. You can find them regularly on Ebay.

Here are the 16 pennants, 16 pins & an American Nut & Chocolate box. I put the pins & pennants set together back when they originally came out, around 1950.

The set has one anomaly--the pin is Wash. Nationals & the pennant is Wash. Senators.
