Good luck to our RMY Auction friends this evening. That number one lot is a museum piece!! (I took the liberty of copying this to the front page from the memorabilia section)

Would love to pick up one photo but NO IDEA of value and fair price of any....And lot of such photos sold in past may or may not be type ones, may or may not have Conlon stamp (probably not), very hard to figure....Any guidelines?

A starting bid of $25 and an ending price of $77,000!! Congrats to RMY, the consignor and the new owner.

Was watching that one myself. Amazing! Is that the highest recorded price for a type 1 sports-related photo (or any photo for that matter)?

Some unbelievable pics in this auction. Was very luck to pick up 5 pics relatively cheap. Great auction!

Nice stuff. I picked up a Michael Jordan college era photo and a Dick Butkus 1966 team issue.

My mail flyer for the Dec 5 auction that was mailed on Dec 1 arrived today (Dec 7). :D

But.... I still was able to pickup a few items from the announcement here and payment will go out tomorrow. Thanks!

I guess these other Cobb Sliding photos weren't Type I? Link 1, Link 2, Link 3

That re-strike is a very cool piece.

I was thrilled to snag the Art Nehf photo from this auction. He's one of two players to make it to the majors from my alma mater (Rose-Hulman Inst of Tech. in Terre Haute, IN). Our field is actually named after him.

I'm guessing the die-hard Conlon fans are aware of it, but the book "Baseball's Golden Age, the Photographs of Charles M Conlon" would be a nice addition to any baseball-related collection. Not surprisingly, there are some incredible images in it. I would highly recommend it.

Cheers,
Mark
