How Can This Exist?

Posted By: Paul
I picked up this uncut strip of the 1984 Topps Tom Seaver cards. How can this exist? I've never seen an uncut Topps sheet with the same player repeated over and over again on consecutive cards.

The back is fully printed.

Posted By: howard
In the 1970's and 80's Topps created regional sets for Burger King that were very similar to the regular issue cards. Maybe these are from something like that.

Posted By: Dave Hornish
In 1984 Topps had an offer where you could mail in for any cards you chose (forget exact details but you could pick up to 10 I think). They printed sheets with multiples of various stars to ensure they had enough for high demand players. There are a number of Strawberry cards on the sheet that I have seen and I assume the Seaver strip is from a similar sheet.

Posted By: Paul S
Cool article, although I didn't see Seaver mentioned as one of the players with multiple cards. Maybe there was a second sheet? I'm too tired to do the math.

Oops, <nevermind!> edited to say that I guess he's one of the "...and others."
