*******Scam Warning*******

WARNING PLEASE READ

If someone calls you from PSA and tells you that they are offering free re-holdering for your whole collection, and that you should package all your cards and leave them on your front porch so they can pick them up and save you shipping cost.

DO NOT DO THIS, IT IS A SCAM. They just want to steal your baseball cards. I wish I had received this warning yesterday, I feel so stupid.

Pup6913 10-23-2012 05:35 AM

If this is serious then you are stupid and deserve to have your cards stolen. I really hope for your sake this is some kinda joke or is leading to the rest of a story.

Are you the infomercial guy??

Ladder7 10-23-2012 07:12 AM

Is this April?

sportscardpete 10-23-2012 08:04 AM

I'm laughing.. but after each passing second it is getting a little more uncomfortable..

Leon 10-23-2012 08:17 AM

Hard to believe anyone would package all of their cards up and leave them on their doorstep. If anyone wants to just give me some money please PM me and I will give you my address to send it to.

Matthew H 10-23-2012 08:24 AM

It would be especially weird considering his collection is graded by SGC :p

vintagecpa 10-23-2012 08:26 AM

I assume this thread is a joke. However, if someone has obtained personal information from a TPG, that would be important information to know.

e107collector 10-23-2012 08:27 AM

Scam

It's almost Halloween.:)

This could be the thread of the year. I can't believe someone would do this.

Rookie mistake. You leave them on the back porch.

sam majors 10-23-2012 09:29 AM

Confused ???

If you live in a tent and don't have a front porch, where do you put your cards?

drc 10-23-2012 09:52 AM

I live in a second story condo and have neither a basement nor a front porch.

And for probably obvious meteorological reasons, you don't leave baseball cards outside in Seattle this time of year.

sycks22 10-23-2012 10:08 AM

If they promised you a 5 day turn around you still have 2 months to see if they were stolen or actually submitted.:)

RichardSimon 10-23-2012 04:14 PM

Nobody can be that stupid, this has to be a joke.

kmac32 10-23-2012 04:23 PM

I could leave them on the front porch with my chihuahua guarding them.

ocjack 10-23-2012 04:29 PM

You guys are cynics. Next you'll tell me the email I got from an attorney in Nigeria is a fraud. I'll be the one laughing when I get my $100,000,000.

JeremyW 10-23-2012 04:45 PM

I hope this is a joke. Ronald let us know.

scooter729 10-23-2012 05:17 PM

Has to be a joke - original poster is the same one that started this brilliant thread a few months back, just to see where it ended up. I love it!

You could put the cards on top of the campfire, next to the tent.:)

Two brilliant threads! Who could have thought it possible?

sam majors 10-23-2012 08:42 PM

More confused than ever!!!

Put my cards on top of the camp fire next to my tent? How crazy is that Tony N???. Think about it!!! PSA guy comes to my camp fire, reaches for my cards, burns both his hands on the roaring fire and my valuable cards go flying willy-nilly in the cool night time air. He gets pissed off, leaves me with my 1981 Fleer Rookie Joe Charboneau cards (all one thousand and twenty two cards, mostly fair to good condition, no creases) scattered around the camp fire.
Please no more foolish suggestions. I need these cards graded for free to make a profit at the "National" in Chicago.

Theoldprofessor 10-23-2012 09:38 PM

Do you not know anything??!!

The correct place to leave your cards is in your grandfather's attic.

zljones 10-24-2012 07:46 AM

If this is a joke thread I am kinda bummed, it would be a lot funnier if it really happened and someone was that stupid :p

Damn, now all they need to do is offer a special for reholdering my wife. I'd be more than willing to place her on the front porch for free pickup.

My porch

I recieved the same phone call so I left my Mark McGuire and Barry Bonds Rookie cards on my porch but No One Picked Them UP ???

John P :)

Prof_Plum 10-24-2012 10:44 AM

Well, I'm bummed. It's too bad they don't offer this service for raw cards.

Scam

You guys aren't going to believe this, but a lady from SGC called me, and said they are offering me a free re-holdering service for my whole collection.

The only thing is that I have to pay the shipping costs, and she said to leave them by the curb for faser pickup.:)

Tony

Jcfowler6 10-24-2012 07:25 PM

And with a news update.... A modified election date this year. Republicans vote on the 5th and Democrats vote on the 6th.

GoldenAge50s 10-24-2012 10:13 PM

PSA just called me & said they would pick up my cards early tomorrow morning.

My question is: Should I put them out tonite and sleep late or get up real early & put them out then and take a nap in the PM to make up for it?

I'm rather new at this, so any advice from this learned & experienced Board is much appreciated.

So reading your warning as written, you're asserting that it was PSA that scammed you. Wow! First, it was grading the T206 Wagner from Mastro, then the WIWAG/Grade & Trade scandal, then Dan McKee's Magie debacle plus a long list of other fiascos too numerous to mention and now something as low as this? When will it stop?

sam majors 10-25-2012 12:21 PM

Confused no more!!

Thanks for all the suggestions about my having no porch to put my cards on problem. A wonderful thing happened outside my tent last night! I was listening to the World Series on my 1960's transistor radio and I kept hearing a whisper saying, "Build it and he will come." Over and over the whisper whistled thru the wind above my tiny, two man Army tent that proudly I call home. "Build it and he will come." "Build it and he will come." As that big third baseman jumped on home plate for the third time, a distinct voice came over the radio and said, "Just build a damn porch you fool!" Anyone on this board hear it too?
Well it took me all night but I built a porch! A damn good porch!
Put my cards out on the porch and expect to see them picked up shortly!!!
Seems like a good idea for a movie, don't you think?

You could have just left them on Funk & Wagnall's porch. If you have a mayonnaise jar.
