"Joe Torre"

Very happy with the way my latest turned out. This was commissioned by the Commissioner's Office for Joe Torre - in tribute to his upcoming Hall induction. I used over approximately 100 Torre cards - Joe's face appears almost 50 times and his name appears almost 150. It was a complete honor to create a piece for such an important event, and I'll cherish every moment of the experience.

WOW that is amazing work. How many cards on average get destroyed to make these beautiful pieces of art and do you use vintage cards or try to stick to modern if possible?

Great questions. On average, approximately 1,100-1,200 cards are used. With this Torre piece - it was the first time I had ever cut a card older than 1984. The request was to use as many Torre cards as possible. I was provided an extremely nice supply (there was even a '62 Topps RC in there!) I didn't use the 62, but I did use several other issues from the '60's. Almost all pieces I create use cards from the mid-late '80's and early 90's. I have been working with newer issues lately, as I am working with the Upper Deck Company on an ongoing project (non-exclusive). If you happen to attend the National, stop by on Friday or Saturday at the UD booth. I am working on one of their pieces on-site, and I would love to meet as many Net54 members as possible.

Really incredible stuff Tim, I can't imagine how much time that takes to create!

Ok, folks who can identify the Torre cards used in the artwork?
