What Are You Looking For In 2019

Thought today was a good time to start this thread. We usually do one each year. You can be as specific as you want. Tell us what you are looking for and hope to add to your collection for 2019.

Mine are as follows:
Hope to add a couple 19th century baseball items to my Kansas collection.
Get 1-2 70’s-80’s Orioles game jerseys.
Acquire 1-2 game used bats of fellow Kansans.
Find the Boog Powell and Frank Robinson 1970’s Orioles pinbacks.

Promethius88 12-31-2018 11:00 PM

At least 20 cards for my 1962 Jell-O set, PSA 9 86 Fleer Jabbar Sticker, 8.5 Uecker rookie, as many NM or better cards to my 1961 Topps raw set!
Happy New Year!

commishbob 12-31-2018 11:13 PM

I want to:

1) finish the sets I'm working on, with the exception of the '61 Topps. That one is a long-term project.

1a) find the rest of the hi number All-Stars from the '61 set.

2) find and acquire a presentable Billy Pierce '59 Bazooka.

3) an Old Judge, any Old Judge, in decent shape of a player in a fielding pose. These are all over eBay and I've seen a number of them here but I've always had something 'ahead' of it in line. I plan to make this a priority this year.

2019

Great thread. Thanks KS!

I still have to get a couple of Pirates bats from the 20's--and there are also a couple more iffy ones that I'd like to upgrade. That's the thing about pre-war, pro-model bats: you never know when one will come along!

deeg23 01-02-2019 05:58 AM

Some HOF highest graded autographed rookies!

2019 pickup wants

For me it's a similar list every year.
Always looking for vintage no-hitter tickets that I'm missing.
If I could add 1-2 new ones in 2019, I would consider that a successful year.

Additionally I would love to find one of the 17 obscure early no-hit pitcher signature's that I am still looking for.

I also would like to find 3-5 new Nolan Ryan pitching appearance tickets that I still need. Current I only need tickets to 48 of Nolan's 807 career regular season pitching appearances.

I'm still looking for a Pat Jarvis game used bat (pitcher for ATL and MONT). This is the last bat that I am looking for in order to complete a long time project that I have been working on.

Finally, I'm always in the market looking for obscure/ oddball items related to Johnny Vander Meer's career in baseball.

Happy New Year to everyone on net54. I hope you all find the items that are on your individual 2019 want lists. :D

hcv123 01-02-2019 12:24 PM

Well........

1 - As has been on the list for many years now - A complete 1960 Bazooka box with Roberto Clemente
2 - Acquire 1 Roberto Clemente card or memorabilia item I never saw/knew existed before
3 - Make progress on the multitude of Pirate team sets I am working on with my kids (T205,T206, T207, 33 Goudey, 1914 Cracker Jack, 1915 Cracker Jack, 1952-1973 Topps, 1948-1955 Bowman, 1959-1968 Venezuelan

keithsky 01-02-2019 01:43 PM

I'd like to find some game used items of Nellie Fox and Luis Aparicio during their White Sox days as my main focus and also other members of the 59 Sox team GU items as my items I'm looking for this year.

baseball tourist 01-02-2019 04:33 PM

Happy New Year everyone!

What I'll be looking for in 2019:

I've collected autographed 1953 Topps Archives cards from the 1991 reprint set for years. I have every possible card signed except one. If anyone knows where an authenticated Roy Campanella signed card from this set is, please let me know. Heck, I'd be interested even if you have ever even seen one authenticated.

I also collect signed 1933 Goudey cards and have over 180 different signed cards from the set autographed. I'd like to get to 200 one day.

I'm also working on the Monster...I have around 150 PSA graded cards from this set. I'd like to hit 200 this year.

Email me if you have any signed 1933 Goudey cards. I'd love to hear what you have: martyesullivan@yahoo.com

Thanks Mark! It has become a white whale for me as of late.

Runscott 01-04-2019 06:57 PM

Great topic.

For 2019 I'm looking for to sell everything I own except for my handguns and supply of bottled water and dried food.

slidekellyslide 01-04-2019 07:29 PM

My list is the same every year.

-Something/anything I don't already have for pre-1961 Lincoln, NE minor league teams.

-Something/anything I don't already have for the Nebraska Indians.

-Any Nebraska Cornhuskers football related real photo postcards.

-Autograph insert cards of Gretzky, Tom Brady, Jordan and other big names.

Outside of sports memorabilia I also collect Lincoln, Nebraska postcards...I have over 5,000 different, I'd like to add 25 to 100+ more this year.

Happy New Year and good luck to all Net54 members!

jimtigers65 01-04-2019 11:26 PM

Looking for 1962 Ford Motor Company Detroit Tigers postcards. A few (Larry Osborne, Terry Fox and Don Mossi) can be routinely found on eBay but some of the others are tough find.

mr2686 01-05-2019 07:57 AM

This year I'm going to concentrate on a couple of different areas.
1. On a monthly basis, I'll be trying to add to my single signed HOF baseballs and my single signed 1955 Dodger single signed baseballs.
I'll also try to pick up small signed items that can fill out my memorabilia room shelves, like signed cards or small photos (with the emphasis on historical accomplishments/events in baseball). Any additional monthly money will go to framing and display costs.
2. Excess money (B-day etc) will go to finish up my 1934 Cardinal project.
Overall, I'm going to try to be a bit more active in the hobby this year.

Bobmc 01-05-2019 08:34 AM

I dream of adding a nice condition game worn jersey from '60s era White Sox players or coaches:

Pete Ward
J C Martin
Joel Horlen
Gary Peters
Tommy John
Wilbur Wood
Ray Berres

Here's what I would love to pick up this year:

1) Would love to find a baseball signed by Jackie Robinson from his Negro League days. Also looking for other integration-related items, and would love to pick up 1-2 over the year

2) 1-2 lineup cards signed by HOF managers that I do not yet have. Yogi Berra and Ryne Sandberg are likely the two easiest, but would love to find one signed by Mel Ott, Rogers Hornsby, Joe McCarthy or some of the more difficult ones)

3) Would love to find a program from the baseball games played in Europe during WWII.

Lordstan 02-17-2019 12:48 PM

1) Any of the signed 1934 Goudeys I need.
2) Lou Gehrig items.

Add a couple of new KC OJ’s to my collection.

Rob M

ksfarmboy 02-17-2019 04:18 PM

Rob are you trying for all poses or just one of each KC player?

Mark70Z 02-17-2019 04:53 PM

I’m a tad late in responding, but I’d like to add a few things this year. I mainly collect Brooksie items, but may try to shoot for at least one cool Orioles displayable item:

1. Upgrade some Brooks cards. When I first started to collect I just picked up anything to fill the spot and should have been a little bit more picky on condition.

2. Been working on a Brooks autographed run (in pen) and like to add a few more nice examples. Still need the ‘57 so that’s 1st on my list if I can locate a nice example.

3. Like to locate and purchase a ‘66, ‘69 or ’83 cardboard Orioles sign.

If you see or have any unique Brooks items please let me know.

perezfan 02-17-2019 05:40 PM

Ill limit it to Football this time around...

Rams Hartland (Lineman version)
Rams Mini Kail Statue (3-point Stance)
Rams Nodder (Yellow Jersey variation)
Dallas Texans Pennant (yellow felt version)
1940s Chesterfield Football Trolley Sign, stating “They Satisfy”

If anybody has any of these items (in nice condition) for sale or trade, please reach out. I can pay strong prices, or have lots of good trade-bait!!

Many thanks for your consideration,
Mark

Hey Clint,

I’m just working towards one of each player but not excluding additional poses if the price is reasonable. Also I am currently just working on the players wearing KC uniforms.
