T-206 Double Print Error Card
Posted By: <b>James Gallo</b><p>I picked this up in a local shop and wanted to get some more information about it.<br /><br />Card is Jeff Sweeny 350 Piedmont Factory 25 back with a back over print on the front.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.thetoyheaven.com/images/items/ebay/bbct206sweeneydoubleprint1.jpg"><br /><br />So my question is how rare is something like this?<br /><br />What should it bring?<br /><br />Will SGC mark it is a double print or something like that on the flip?<br /><br />Card is clean with a slight diamond cut and some minor corner wear.<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />James G<br><br>Looking for 1915 Cracker Jacks and 1909-11 American Caramel E90-1.

Posted By: <b>Trae R.</b><p>That's actually a wet sheet transfer, where a sheet of cards was lain on top of another sheet and the ink was still wet so it transferred onto the fronts of the other cards.<br /><br />They show up pretty frequently, but they're not normally as dark and defined as this one. It may very well carry a small premium, but I wouldn't expect much more than 1.5x<br /><br />I've also seen them with a different tobacco brand transferred on the front (Piedmont back with Sweet Cap front, for example) - still not selling for much more than normal though.<br /><br />Yours is neat looking though.

Posted By: <b>Scott Levy</b><p>Trae is correct (wet sheet transfer)<br /><br />SGC will not give a special qualifier, but they will slab it and probably provide a number grade.<br /><br />Personally, I put a bit more of a premium than 1.5x...but they are not all that rare and therefore I probably overpay sometimes!<br /><br />Nice looking card, thanks for sharing.<br />SGL
