Need help from Cincinnati Reds Photo Experts!

Hi guys,
Picked up this photo of a Reds player from a vintage paper show today, wondering if anyone can help to identify the player. It feels like a postcard and has silvering like a RPPC. It's also thicker than a photo, not thin like a snapshot. Almost the same same size as a postcard but a bit shorter. If anyone could help me out that would be great!

Based on the teeth, I'd guess he's British. Or he shouldn't smile... ;-)

It resembles Moe Drabowsky, it he only played a short time with Cincinnati. Worth checking I think.

Good guess, but I am still not 100% if it's him or not?

Agreed, I am just saying resembles.

awfully old looking image for Moe

Teeth don't match - not Drabowski

Those teeth don't look familiar.

My first inclination was Ernie Nevel but don't think that is correct.

Rocky?

Rocky Bridges?

I think this is a photo of Bobby Durnbaugh. Do you guys agree? Check out the fangs!

swarmee 04-08-2017 09:05 AM

I agree. That's the same guy.

Thanks! He only played for the Reds in 1957 but the uniform is 1956, wonder when this photo was taken exactly?

Looks good, nice find.

Durnbaugh

Bobby went into sporting goods sales after his baseball career. It was always a blast to have him stop by ( I was a high school coach/ athletic director). Tremendous personality and a genuinely, wonderful guy.
Quite likely he was in spring training with Reds in 1956.

Totally Bela Lugosi. I'm on the hearse with everybody else with this one.
