Has anyone seen the new Ebay auctions?

Posted By: Jeremy W.
It appears as if Leon has laid down the law with Ebay. Auctions over $200. now show a partial bidders ID. Just give Leon a liaison & whammo.

Has anyone seen the new Ebay auctions?

Posted By: leon
First of all it certainly wasn't me but I did communicate again with my Ebay liaison again today and we did (briefly) talk about the "anonymous" bidding problem and he agrees but he can't change the world. Also nice segue into a little more info. Today we spoke about enlisting some more help and some parameters of what we are doing. Basically his/our hands are tied with legitimate (at least the Big 4) grading companies slabbed cards. We have to take it up with the grading companies. Even the recent T206 Red Cobby Drum would have not been able to be taken down. With that being said my contact said he would like to hear from a handful of folks that want to help and told me I could give these trusted hobbyists his contact info. One concern is that he wouldn't want this to be a competitive thing where one seller is a competitor of another so he turns their auction in. I rebutted with the fact that if a card is bad it's bad....regardless of who is selling it. With this being said if some folks want to email me about helping I will get you his contact info tomorrow (it's at work).....What we are looking for, mostly, is all of the crap low hanging fruit. If it's in a legit holder there's not much that can be done.....I am not sure if this process will help too much but it can't hurt.....so I will give it a try. If anyone else cares to volunteer please email me. I will look back and see who has emailed already but I could miss someone so please do it again....best regards

Posted By: Jim VB
Leon,

Here's one of my suggestions to Ebay. Create a category for reprints AND ENFORCE IT!

I'm tired of typing in any search info and finding that 450 of the 600 hits are for reprints. If it's a reprint, say so and list it as such. If the item is listed in the wrong category, Ebay should move it. If a seller repeatedly lists in the wrong category, they should cut him off.

(I know it won't happen, but I feel better just venting. Thanks.)
