Please clarify the “Hugging” rule for me

Runners on first and second with one out

Ball hit on the ground to Arenado, who tags Baez on his way to third.

Baez then hugs Arenado preventing a throw to second or first for an inning ending double play.

Shouldn’t there be a rule that may have been broken by Baez?

The result of the play was inconsequential in this case, but what if the next Cubbie hit one onto Waveland Av, leading to a Cub win.

The umpires huddled briefly scratching their crotches. Bud Black didn’t protest. Arenado didn’t seem upset that he didn’t get a kiss as well as the hug from Baez.

Baserunner harassment should be illegal in my opinion. You should only be able to hug players on your own team.

I don't know the official rule but would assume if it looked like he was attempting a throw and was interfered with they could call the runner heading to second or first out as well. Just like when the guy sliding to second goes out of the base path to interfere with a throw.

No hugging, no touching, no kissing, no feeling, no talking dirty or any other unwanted sexual advances. It's all considered sexual harassment nowadays.

:D

I found it very offensive for an offensive player to interfere with a defensive player by defending against him. Stay in Your Lane!:eek::eek:

Give me you cuddled masses

Briefly, or, to be brief - or in another's briefs, as in jockeying for position - all of the above posts are covered under the "in the vicinity" rules.

This is how the NHL is going to deal with Brad Marchand this year.

There isn't a no licking rule yet but until a rule can be put in place, any NHL'r wishing to lick their opponent, that gets caught, will have to wear one of these, depending on the severity of the lick, for a yet to be decided X number of games. :D
