1915/1916 W-UNC Strip Card Joe Jackson

Posted By: James Gallo
Ok so it just happens that REA and Mastro bot have one of these, and I am curious about a few things.

Anyone have any other cards from this set? How rare are they and do they ever come up for sale.

Are there only 2 of these jacksons? I find it slightly hard to believe that there are only two and they just happen to come up for sale at the same time.

REA
http://bid.robertedwardauctions.com/bidplace.aspx?itemid=10237

Mastro
http://tinyurl.com/6ellq8

Anyone with any ideas about this set or what these might go for.

Lastly, would it be a crime to try to turn the piece back down on the REA one, that white spot just pulls the eye right away.

James G

Looking for 1915 Cracker Jacks and 1909-11 American Caramel E90-1.

Posted By: Rhett Yeakley
That is a tough set. I have seen multiples on a few of the cards in the set, but haven't seen more than 3 of any one particular card. I only own the Philadelphia Team card and I believe Leon also has a copy of the team, but I could be wrong. I also doubt there are only 2 Jackson's but I would be surprised if there were more than 4-5 known of the card.
-Rhett

Here's my Philadelphia Card:

Posted By: James Gallo
So what in the world do these cards sell for. Is it the type of set that even commons in low grade bring good money ie 500-1000 or more or is it a set that many don't care about because of it's unknown origins.

James G

Looking for 1915 Cracker Jacks and 1909-11 American Caramel E90-1.

Posted By: James Gallo
Is yours short? Bottom look like there is enough room, but obviously the top is either short or it's miscut.

I guess these would just pop up under a general strip search...

James G

Looking for 1915 Cracker Jacks and 1909-11 American Caramel E90-1.

Posted By: leon
James- I never really gave the length of it much thought. It's a strip card so I guess some are short and some aren't. I still don't understand the grading of strip cards......regards

Posted By: James Gallo
Leon,

I just based it on what the two verison of the same card look like. Yours has no boarder on when end while Rhetts is almost perfectly centered.

I realize that because they are a strip card there might be some size differences, but it seems like yours is either short or miscut.

Then again it seems like with this set it doesn't really matter :-D

James G

Looking for 1915 Cracker Jacks and 1909-11 American Caramel E90-1.
