1949 Bowman Jackie: my 1st big pickup since the National

Fell in love with this card when it appeared online. Was looking for a 7, but with its centering, color and focus, it blew away many of the 7's that were, or have been, available. Not to mention that it saved me ~$1K off of the PSA 7 price.

That's a great looking card. Congratulations!

Very nice and good value. Card not holder

That's a beauty. I'll take that over a 70/30 centered PSA 7 any day. Congrats.

Very nice pickup on an iconic card!

I share only because I was in an identical situation on a 1950 Jackie. Was looking for months prior for a PSA 7, but ran across this at the National. Not as well-centered as yours, obviously, but for a savings of 1.5K and solid eye-appeal, I felt this was a win.

Congrats on an astute pickup!

Great looking Jackies guys! I hope to get a 1950 Bowman next year.

This is my only Jackie. It's not a 6.5, but I think it looks nice for the grade. Bought a while back here.

That Leaf is a beauty, Jesse, congrats. I understand that the Leaf is so much tougher and desirable, but besides price, it comes down to the image for me: on the Leaf, Jackie looks sleepy but on the Bowman he looks happy.

Yea the Bowman is a great looking card. I had planned to pick up both but haven't got around to it yet. So many great cards out there but unfortunately I can't afford them all.

If you want a truly tough Jackie rookie, try to find the 1947 Bond Bread Exhibit card--very, very elusive! It utilizes a very popular portrait image.

Happy collecting,

Larry

My only Jackie Robinson card. If I wasn't almost exclusively collecting 52 Topps cards, I would focus most of my attention towards more of JR's cards and memorabilia.
