Posted By: Bob Lemke
If you want to "legitimize" the value of your purchase(s), we can still update the prices in time for the 2007 Standard Catalog. Prior to the sale and breakup I had planned to remove all pricing from the set, but now feel it is possible to ballpark a price guide for them. I welcome any reports from buyers or seller.

Posted By: Preece1
Hi Bob,

I have agreed with all buyers and prospective buyers that I would not divulge their names or the prices at which the cards were sold. If they wish to privately discuss the prices with you that is their business.

Regards,

Patrick
Posted By: Hal Lewis
Maybe I am just to skeptical of everything...

but why wouldn't the buyers all just tell Mr. Lemke that they paid $300,000 for each card?

Then he would print it in the book and it would become "book" value of their new card?

Am I missing something?

Posted By: Paul
Hal raises a good point. (The one thing being a lawyer does for you is to train you to think of how people might be sleezy). Perhaps Bob will need to check with the seller to confirm that the prices are accurate. Of course, he'll need to convince the seller that the buyer really has authorized the release of the information.

Posted By: Preece1
Maybe I am overestimating people's intentions, but I don't understand the need for the buyers to update the pricing. The ones that have approached me are looking to acquire a card for there collection, not as an investment for re-sale.

Posted By: Bob Lemke
with the $4,000 NM price currently carried for commons, then I guess there is no need to seek current information for an update. It's funny, though, that when the new generation of owners wants to cash out, they'll be whining about the woefully inaccurate "book" value.
