If anyone owns one, could you briefly describe the cardstock (thin, thick, glossy front, other). You can email me at the above linked email address if you wish .... I received an email question about this issue, and am ignorant to the specifics of the issue.

Posted By: <b>leon</b><p>I have heard different stories on these cards. One story is that any of them with blank backs are cut from an advertising poster ala Fro-Joys. The other story is that both the ad back and the blank back are legit. Frank Ward would also be a good source for this info. The one I have has an ad back, is on medium cardboard, and I am sure it is real. It has been cancelled too.....I can post a scan tonight if that would help? I do think any legit ones should be on medium card stock and NOT hand cut (unless they are trimmed)..and personally I have stayed away from the blank backed ones I have seen.... best regards

Posted By: <b>TIK</b><p>I have owned 2 sets and a few singles, one set I did PSA and sell. I have also owned a fake single - sold to me by an ebay seller. The fake photo was really bad - looked like a poor copier specimen. The real cards are either sepia or what looks to be real photo. They have both blank and ad backs, with the ad backs at a small premium. To my knowledge they were never reproduced by a big name outfit. Hello Leon - good to see you on the boards!!<BR><BR>Terry

Posted By: <b>dan mckee</b><p>From my past experience, I was under the impression from my old man that the brown ones with blank backs were reprints. I have since acquired a wrapper that is of different paper than the usual wrapper so I thought it was a reprint as well. I then noticed that my wrapper says "chocolate coated" and has some different wording on it. I am thinking, guessing, dreaming, that the blank backed brown cards came with the chocolate candy and the normal ad back cards came with the usual white wrappers.

Posted By: <b>Hankron</b><p>The story was that I got an email from a guy out east somewhere. He said an elderly family 'with a lot of old stuff' had a bunch of the cards (all blank backed). Before puchashing the lot, the family allowed him to send in one of the cards to PSA for their judgement. So he sent one in and is waiting to see what PSA says. So, the guy seems to be prudent.
