Charles Darwin Autograph Sold at Auction

Chris Morales Charles Darwin autograph. The funny thing is it also has a certificate from J.S. Sports Investments that states that Jon or one of his representatives witnessed the autograph personally. Darwin died April 19th, 1882. Here is the link it will make you laugh. http://proxibid.com/asp/LotDetail.asp?ahid=2677&aid=47970&lid=12448243#

Hi James-

The link didn't work for me, but I was just reading about an English scientist, Sir Francis Galton, who was the cousin of Charles Darwin. He studied fingerprints and in 1892 he published a book on their classification. In 1902 fingerprinting was adopted by Scotland Yard (the system they used before that was based off of an 11 point measurement system of body parts :D).

Sincerely, Clayton

Wow. Check out the "Auction information, and special terms of sale."

"PLEASE READ: This auction company has requested and been granted access to see all bids placed including any maximum pre-bids. This auction is permitted to engage in this activity by providing this clear disclosure to you, the bidder."

Something doesn't quite seem right about that.

You are right David. I also sell on Proxibid but did not request this info because I do not want to see it. There is another disclosure about bidding on behalf of the seller also. I would not feel comfortable with this if I were bidding.

You have to wonder about the origin of that specie.
