Sometimes weird things happen. The only major offensive category that Carlton Fisk ever led the league in? Yep, triples. With 9 in 1972. He was kind of fast for a catcher, but still, dude was a catcher.

If you hit a walk off HR back in those days with a man on first, didnt they record it as a triple since you didnt need to score the second run to win? Just asking..... also, remembering that great Baseball Scoops card I had as a kid MAYS HITS 3 TRIPLES IN ONE GAME! AWESOME

I was a catcher for the softball team I was on. in three years I had all of two extra base hits, both triples.

Triples are strange things.

One of my favorite players too! A buddy of mine always gets front row tickets next to the visiting teams on deck circle when the Mets come to town.
