Hey, Nappy1525...welcome to Net54

Why don't you introduce yourself?

And make sure to note that your next post will be #15 for today.

Best regards,

Eric Perry

Context?

itjclarke 06-11-2014 08:27 PM

I'm guessing Adrian is back and Eric sniffed it out

Peter,

Forgive my outburst. I do not think Adrian is back. I simply see another ($h!t) storm brewing. IMHO, Mr. Nappi is a low-life POS that simply shouldn't be here.

Just my two cents. Not to rest on my laurels; however, I was the first one to take a serious run at Adrian's BS. And I call BS on this clown, too.

Best,

Eric

bobbyw8469 06-11-2014 08:34 PM

LOL! No wonder I didn't get a response to my counter-offer!

Peter_Spaeth 06-11-2014 08:34 PM

Your outburst is fine with me, just want to know the context.

Luke 06-11-2014 08:45 PM

This Nappy guy is high bidder on three lots on the B/S/T auction page. If he pays in a timely fashion, he may not be that bad of a guy to have around. We shall see though. And, of course I haven't received any of his lowball offers. I know how annoying that can be.

Nappy1525 06-11-2014 08:50 PM

Hey guys thanks for the welcome and from some of you thanks for judging me right away. I'm just lookin to buy cards in a safe way and a good price. I was just ripped off from Craigslist and lost a significant amount of money so I'm not here to give you bad offers and I'm sorry it did that trust me I'm not a bad guy. Thanks again for the welcome it means a lot
Adam

Nappy1525 06-11-2014 08:53 PM

And bobby I'm sorry I didnt respond to your offer I just bought $375 worth of cards on this thanks to quinnsryche

Peter_Spaeth 06-11-2014 08:59 PM

Did he cheat somebody? Making a lowball offer hardly seems enough to be called a low-life POS especially on his first day?

Nappy1525 06-11-2014 09:01 PM

I have not cheated anyone. I may have made a lowball offer for him but I am very close on 2 other deals. I also just won an auction that I am about to pay for and everytime I win an auction I will pay within the hour

Hi Nappy,

Welcome to the forum. Just a suggestion but, if you are going to negotiate the price of a card, you might want to do it directly through PM rather than putting the offer out there. Sellers like a little privacy in the process.

What do you collect?

Chris

Yeah, if that's all he's done it certainly doesn't warrant that type of response. It may just be an over-reaction on Eric's part. I know I over-react from time to time on here.

Nappy1525 06-11-2014 09:04 PM

So my names Adam I just started to buy cards and if I can sell for a prophet I will sell but I'm not a dealer. So please I didn't mean to offend anyone I'm just here to talk buy sell and maybe trade baseball cards. I'm a good guy I guess just had a bad first day on an offer or two

Peter,

No, not yet. I just call 'em like I see 'em. Without evidence, counselor, I shall withdraw my claim.

However, I do hope that Net54 has been duly notified.

The (virtual) prosecution rests.

Nappy1525 06-11-2014 09:06 PM

Yeah best dj I noticed that after I did it a couple times haha thanks I am collecting tobacco cards and also mantles koufaxs things from the 50s-70s and if it's a good price earlier years I will buy that too

bobbyw8469 06-11-2014 09:06 PM

Welcome Adam...what do you collect?

Nappy1525 06-11-2014 09:07 PM

Eric I bought $375 worth of cards 2 hours after I joined and I just won an action I'm about to pay for so I'm sorry I made you a bad offer but I don't really deserve that

e107collector 06-11-2014 09:08 PM

If he didn't cheat anyone out of $$, or back out of a deal, then welcome board Adam.

Sell for a prophet? :)

If you're a tobacco guy and a Mantle guy I think you'll like it here. Good luck on the card hunt!

As the "auctioneer" I can confirm that payment was just received by me. Thanks Adam!

:D

Sean1125 06-11-2014 09:31 PM

I didn't know we could sell cards for Abraham.

Leon 06-11-2014 09:39 PM

I predict a run on popcorn very soon.

4815162342 06-11-2014 10:09 PM

Here's Hoping for World Peace and All That!

I have neglected, up to now, to introduce myself. I wanted to 'get my feet wet' and be sure I did not do anything to offend anyone.

I will say that I am CERTAINLY glad I don't seem to have ticked anyone off yet!

I will formally introduce myself on a new thread soon.

That is the way to do it Raymond, welcome aboard!

Adam,

I would suggest taking some time to see how the board works and asking questions if necessary before placing bids on auctions that have already closed, making offers publicly in B/S/T threads, and then putting cards up for auction starting at $250 all on your first day.

You mentioned getting ripped off on Craigslist, please understand that the members of Net54 are very protective of this community and we are sceptical (due to prior incidents) of anyone joining up and starting in buying and selling before we have any idea of their background.

Just my two cents, hope all goes well.

Raymond purchased some cards off e-bay from me the other day, I can assure you he paid in a timely manner ;);).

I have sold at card shows at Hofstra and white plaines. If you guys want to know anything else just ask

Nappy1525 06-12-2014 10:02 AM

I'll be selling for a clairvoyant next week. She says I'm going to do well. ;)

So, a profit of God, depending on the conversation (which I am not advocating that we should start here), could be correct usage .:D

vintagetoppsguy 06-12-2014 10:26 AM

Is my tithe at church considered a profit of God? :D

Leon 06-12-2014 10:42 AM

From our few PM's our newest, young (19 yrs old) forum member is very mature for his age. I asked him to just slow down a little, we are an older crowd, for the most part. I am sure he will fit right in. And welcome aboard too!!

christopher.herman 06-12-2014 10:57 AM

Adam, welcome to the board. Do you have any experience with coins, hockey cards or '52 Mantles?

Nappy1525 06-12-2014 10:59 AM

I actually have 2 Gretzky rookies but this was an all baseball site so I didn't want to post it but I would love to have a mantle like that

steve B 06-12-2014 11:04 AM

It's not all baseball.

Just scroll down past the BST and there's sections for other stuff. Not as active, but usually just as good.

And the link in the upper right corner goes to the non-sport board.

Steve B

wazoo 06-12-2014 11:44 AM

Adam, Christopher's post was an inside joke. Your initial behavior reminded us of another hyper young (former) Net54 member. Just keep in mind the old adage that collecting is a marathon, not a sprint.

Nappy1525 06-12-2014 11:54 AM

Yes no problem I've been looking around and I'm starting to get the hang of everything. And of course I will take it slow

Jewish-collector 06-12-2014 12:07 PM

Welcome to the forum !!! Take it slow !!!
