Posted By: leon
Don't remember seeing those though I haven't been around a long time. One looks like a T205 minor league wannabe and the other an orange border wannabe. From a cursory glance the "minor league" looking card looks like it was maybe more of a series and the other one looks like it was cut from a box or something.. pretty cool looking...let us know if you auction them.....regards

Posted By: bcornell
Not sure on the orange border - I haven't owned one. It does look like it was cut out, though.

As to the other card, there was a Jack Bliss who played for StL NL from 1908-1912, but that was before Hornsby's start with the team, so it doesn't explain the "Rajahs" team name.

Posted By: scgaynor
Thanks for the help on the Criger. The white inside of the orange border is what threw me as well. It is on light cardboard stock and appears to have been cut from a box, but didn't know if it was technically an "Orange Border."

The other card is on stock similar to American Caramel cards, just slightly less thin than most T-cards.

If anybody else has any idea's, I would love to hear them.

Thanks again.

Scott

I am also posting three different L1 leathers, a complete set of 1904 Sporting Life Team Composite Prints, some Obaks, and more.

Next week I will have an L1 Ty Cobb in NM condition and in about 2 weeks a 1914 Cracker Jack Christy Mathewson that I'm getting SGC graded 1st.

Scott

Posted By: Patrick McMenemy
Hi Scott:

My somewhat educated guess is the the term was used as a term of endearment for Roger Bresnahan, who was a
player/manager for St. Louis. Just as the term "NAPS" was a label used as a nickname for Cleveland after Napoleon LaJoie's association with that team.

Patrick

Posted By: dan mckee
On the right, absolutely a 1910 Orange Border. On the left, Leon, you have seen one before, I own a Chance from the same issue. I have no idea what it is though Scott. Dan.

Posted By: scgaynor
Dan, what does it say below the "chance" on the card that you have? Does it make reference to the team captian (who was probably Chance anyway)? Perhaps this is some type of mid-west regional issue.

Scott

Posted By: dan mckee
Scott, bottom says Cubs, scan to follow. Lyman and Bob Lemke, if my chance shows up cataloged, I will have to beat both of into small pieces with my hoard of 1982 Cal Ripken rookie toilet paper cards. Dan.
