a big THANK YOU to REA Auctions

Posted By: scott brockelman
Much to my surprise and pleasure i received the very large Ramly advertising piece from Rob Lifson/Robert Edwards Auctions today. I was aware it was being packaged and shipped by Craters and Freighters, WOW! this very fragile and large piece came in a custom made plywood box on a pallet by freight truck. Now i know how Monet's and other fine pieces of art must be shipped. To say the least it was in immaculate condition, not a ding, scrape, or cracked glass, hell not even a finger print!

(please excuse my rambling writing, my full house just got beat by a higher full house on party poker, DAMN!)

To say the least they went above and beyond the call of duty. I paid about $170 for shipping for all of my winning lots in REA and offered to pay more to ship this rare and fragile item. They replied that they would take care of all costs, and I have every reason to believe the actual shipping well exceeded my billed amount.

I want to give a big thanks to Rob and his entire staff for the handling of this from start to finish.

While most have seen the catalogue, here is the item that i have sought for 5 years after losing the bidding on the only other 1 known. It is quite large almost 2' x 3' and as the auction states entirely done by hand, you can seen vestiges of the orginal pencil drawings for the hand lettering and the photo is unbelievable, with a very young smokey joe wood in the foreground among many other greats.

http://www.robertedwardauctions.com/site/bidplace.aspx?itemid=4563

Scott

I had placed the card on eBay with a BIN under $1000 with no takers and the final price was almost 3 times that amount. Rob did a great job thru the whole thing and made me feel like my card was the only one in auction.

Many thanks.

Jay

I like to sit outside, drink beer and yell at people. If I did this at home, I would be arrested. So, I go to baseball games and fit right in.

Posted By: Julie Vognar
I don't know if you know I chose REA because I got an item from his last auction before he could have gotten my check, and when I asked "Do you always send out goods before you get monery?" he said, "Rumor has it that you very seldom stiff auction houses."

A little humor goes a LOOONG way.

That's an "m", Jay, and you can't convince us otherwise!

I gratefully won the lot I was after, a group of 3 N283 "Defender And Offenders". Whew.

Posted By: cmoking
I won an unusual lot in the recent REA auction and I contacted REA via email to ask a few questions before and after the auction. Rob answered every question very thoroughly and quickly. After the auction, he even volunteered to put me in touch with the consignor. I had a great phone conversation with the consignor...all thanks to Rob.

Thank you.

Posted By: JimB
I would like to give props to Mastronet as well along these lines. I had some trouble wiring money to them. I went the wire route to get my won lot as quickly as possible. There were problems, so ultimately I sent a check and asked if they could send my item quickly. The item arrived in two days, clearly faster than the 10 day waiting period normally required for checks to clear. This was much appreciated. A little touch like this can go a long way.
JimB
