St Mary`s Industrial School Calendars

Hey guys, always on the lookout for affordable items pertaining to Babe/Black Sox/Mantle and followed these on ebay (please see enclosed link) over the weekend. Have seen the St M`s postcards, thanx for the info Paul, but until these have never come across any calendars. If any "54`ers" have any info or comments please feel free to post. Thanx and looking forward to learning more about these items.

Thanks Greg, wouldn`t this make a nice companion piece for that outstanding early BABE photo of yours of his playing days while attending the school. Surprised that bad boy is still available being so tough to come bye.

Is the school still open? I always wanted to visit when I finally make my way down to Baltimore to visit the Babe Ruth Museum & catch a game at Camden.

The school burned down in 1919. Shortly thereafter, the Xaverian Brothers constructed a smaller school on site. Completed in 1923, that building still stands. The chapel next to the school was lightly damaged and remained until 1961 when it was torn down to make way for Cardinal Gibbons High School. The site is the southwest corner of Wilkens Ave and South Caton Ave in Baltimore. The formal address is 3320 Wilkens Ave, Baltimore, 21229. If you are coming from Rte 95 you can take Exit 50 going north, the Caton Ave exit and it will be on the right at the third light. Saint Agnes hospital will be on your left. As you approach you will see a football and baseball field on the right. It is only a few miles from the Inner Harbor. Wilkens Ave. starts a few blocks south of West Lombard St at South Gilmor Street.
