Auctioning Paintings and prints

I'm assuming Heritage would be the most appropriate AH for auctioning original non-sports art?

I would love to hear other recommendations, as I have a few paintings, Japanese prints and old photogravures that are in the $500-$2K range that I would like to sell.

I would expect HA to accept only expensive stuff, though a multi consignment might count.

RR maybe.

HA is a little bit picky on what art they take to auction. I would check with them and maybe Lelands.....RR is a good group too. Heck, Steiner might do a good job on those too?

I'd look into Julien's as well - I'm not too sure what they typically offer in terms of art, but I've definitely seen a good amount of art-centric auctions from them in the past few years.

Thanks for your suggestions. It's not a hurry - just trying to complete a sales plan for all of my non-collection inventory, and these items were an unknown.

I know someone who had a $500 print turned down by HA because it wasn't worth enough, but that was just one item. May be different with group consignment.

Lelands would be good.

I know RR has done well with non-sport photos. I am assuming you are including Curtis items.

Not sure about the Curtis photogravures but they aren't worth $500 each. I was considering a couple of nice Japanese woodblocks and a few of the non-sports Beneker watercolor studies.

Bob, thanks for your suggestion.
