Correct me because I am probably wrong

It seems to me with all the digital investing in a one of a kind digital image
etc. That there will be an investment fund to buy into partial ownership of
original type 1 photos - the photo held in a "vault" and investors being able
to buy and sell partial ownerships?

"one of a kind" not including the thousands of copies on the interwebs...

I am happy to sell anybody who is interested a partial ownership in my entire collection, I will store it in my "vault" and you can look at what you partially own on my flickr site...

Wrap multiple up into a mutual fund style investment, and be the fund manager.

Rambling thoughts.

Actually, I don't see why not. If a collector has a nice large collection, he can show value appreciation, he can sell images to publications and sell images through a store....occasionally buy and sell images at auction.... If he can create a EOY accounting of growth of the fund, it seems like it would be manageable.

There is someone on the board who sells classic images called Pre-War Prints. If the fund was to release and sell one or two images monthly and reinvest. If they marketed to SABR, SI, ESPN, book publishers. Put out calendars. It seems like a full time job.

This is already being done. Look uo the Collectable app.
They put an item. They have had cards, uniforms, etc. They offer the equivalent of an ipo which they set a value on an item and then sell shares in that item. The price per share x the number of shares = the value they set. Shortly after that they allow "trading" of those shares, much like the stock market. Occasionally someone offers to buy the item outright. That offer is presented to the shareholders for a vote. If they agree, they split the proceeds among the shareholders based on the number of share held.
The owners of the site collect transaction fees from what i understand.
