Heritage / LOTG wins

Let's see them!

Won this in Heritage, really wanted one ever since seeing Kawika's...

This was my only win. I bid on most of the E105s, really wanted the Dooin. Ended up being the underbidder. Thought about bidding one more time when I woke up at 6am and the auction was still going (!), but decided to let it go. I was an underbidder on the D303 Mother's Bread Marquard also.

I was under bidder on that one. I won the Dixie cigarettes right fielder. And the 37 opeechee feller.

Eric72 11-20-2016 10:17 AM

I won the lot of HOF autographs from LOTG. The bidding experience was excellent. Simple and straightforward.

Can't wait to get these. I have projects planned for a few of them. Going to match the Bunning and Roberts signatures up with Perez-Steele HOF postcards and make a pair of matted, framed pieces to hang in my home office. Same goes for the Negro League stars.

Very happy to have taken part in this auction. Thanks, Al, for putting on a first class production.

Best regards,

Eric

I was the only bidder on the Gehrig Goudey display board. Very cool. Surprised and happy to have that locked down at 9pm.

Also bought the Ruth picture (from Babe Comes Home) that I believe a fellow board member consigned.

Priced out of a Lajoie I entered a low cost bid for this card. Schaefer coached and played 1 game with Cleveland. With a little bit of a stretch I happily add this to the type collection.Attachment 251625

I won this, but was outbid on all my prewar wants in both auctions.

Nice Raymond...if I was a betting man, you might of placed a few bids on mine as well??
Anyways, after stepping backwards, I fulfilled the empty spots I once had by replacing them.

These "offgrade" HOFers were really reasonably priced for sure.

Picked up my third Plow's Candy from LOTG. For some reason Harmon is the only card in the set without a ballpark background.

I picked up four pieces in last Nights LOTG auction the first was a 1915 Cleveland Season pass (Shoe less Joe's last season with Cleveland) that I was the only bidder on. Back has paper attached from a Scrapbook but should be able to remove. Next was the Nu Grape 1929 A's premium I will not be doing anything to it but framing under UV museum glass and enjoying. Third was the 1914 Baseball world tour book with cover completely off and in a Frame. I will have some restoration done to preserve this and pass it on at some point. The last was the 1904 Highlanders program with Keeler and Griffith on cover. NY Vs Boston April 16 1904 The Pilgrims of Boston fresh from their victory in the very first world series visit NY opening weekend of the 1904 season this was the third game. Really excited about this one..

These two are my personal favorites from the Novelty Cutlery set. They have a complete background and achieve an altogether more photographic look than most in the set, note that the photos were taken in the same location.

Very happy to have picked up my first ever 19th century cabinet team card in LOTG. 1889 Oakland Colonels team cabinet card SGC 10. Presents beautifully and has great eye appeal. Always wanted a 19th century team cabinet card. Don't get many cracks at obtaining one.

Got a couple firsts, excited to add a Red Hindu to my back run and for what I felt was a great price. The postcard had me laughing out loud, I was happy that no one else found it as amusing as myself, as I was the only bidder.

Anyone receive their winnings yet??
Paid on Nov 20th via Echeck. No tracking number yet.

Edit:
I did go thru my invoice and noticed this part:
Quote:

Shipping: Allow 7-14 days to receive the items you won (7-30 days for Premium Domain Transfers, 14-21 days for Musical Instruments, Arms & Armor). Items purchased in a Signature auction that was held away from Heritage's Dallas offices will likely take additional time to process due to the transit time from the auction site. Same here, but my invoice was about $1k. Bigger lots they wait.

scooter729 11-30-2016 11:13 AM

I had a large invoice from Heritage and paid via eCheck the day I got my invoice (last Sunday?) - I got an email today stating my order had shipped. If I remember right from calling them about it, eCheck puts a 5 day hold on your order for it to clear, before they will ship.

Maybe the Thanksgiving holiday caused some additional delays for some?

Me too! My stuff was under $200

AustinMike 12-01-2016 06:26 AM

My auction wins are primarily post-war Mantle stuff, but I'll throw in my $2 worth anyway. I paid for winnings from both auctions by check via snail mail. Sent checks on the 22nd. Love of Game hit my bank on the 29th and Heritage hit on the 30th (this check went all the way from Austin to Dallas, about 240 miles). LoG under $400 and Heritage under $300. Still waiting for both, unsurprisingly. I think the Thanksgiving Holiday is definitely affecting the time for both.

Of other note, also still waiting for Hunt and Mile High winnings. Checks also sent via snail mail. Both checks sent the 15th and both hit the bank on the 22nd. MH was substantial and Hunt was a little more than $1k. Hopefully they'll be on their way soon.

I guess the lesson is don't send payment via snail mail if you're in a hurry to receive winnings. Fortunately, I'm not in too big of a hurry.

Sean 12-01-2016 08:43 AM

I'm also waiting for my Hunt winnings. The check cleared my bank Nov. 23. :(

Cat 12-01-2016 10:29 AM

Heritage sent mine before payment received too. Invoice: $19,600.

Got mine yesterday. Despite the fact that the postman ignored the signature required requirement and left the cardbox box on a wet bench, all fine.

AAAARGH! This makes me crazy!

Sorry to hear this, hopefully we pack things well enough that there are multiple "lines of defense" between your stuff and the elements. We try and make sure everything is REALLY well-protected.

For those still waiting for shipping notices and such, trust that we're chugging away - the Thanksgiving holiday shut us down for a few days (and also kept some important shipping materials from being delivered) but people still paid during that time, so we're working hard to get caught up. We're pretty close but not quite there yet. We had more winners in this auction than ever before (thanks!), and a boxing auction on top of that, so there are something like 500 packages to ship!

Thanks to everyone who participated in either auction!

-Al

Steve, glad to hear that you received it and that your winnings were safe and secure. The PO can be frustrating at times.
