Not sure about that PSA 9 Mathewson from the Harris Collection.

Sean 05-25-2013 10:58 AM

Great cards, though I am a bit surprised to see Duke Snider's card listed along with those other cards.

The Mathewson doesn't appear undersized, but I suppose any card from the Harris collection is suspect.

1st time I have ever seen a E90-1 Caramel Joe Jackson in such a high grade....would love to own such a card!!!

Any T206 in a 9 holder is at least worthy of very close scrutiny, in my opinion. As is any E90-1 in an 8 or higher.

I find the Kendrick accumulation boring. Yes, a few pristine examples of rare cards....but no love there. I can look and appreciate a group of low grade cards over and over again and never tire of them. I suspect Kendrick rarely even thinks of his. I think he "buys the holder" not the card.
Also as mentioned...The 49 Duke of Flatbush seems out of place. And some of those cards look trimmed to me:D. Dave. Now for the real fun...I'm off to the Joey thread!

Jlighter 05-25-2013 11:46 AM

Snider might be in the grouping because he could be a favorite of Kendrick. Like a childhood hero or something. Did Kendrick pick the cards or the Hall?

I have no basis for this, just speculating.

Is it just me, or does that PSA 10 1952 Mickey Mantle look off centered? It's definitely not 50/50 left to right. And it has a bit of a diamond cut, as the top right border is closer to the edge than the top left border and the lower right side border is closer to the edge than the top right side border. How'd it get a 10??

Cardboard Junkie 05-25-2013 03:45 PM

It's like I said, a collection of holders not cards. No love.:(

That Plank....damn.

Not sure I get you....because someone buys high grade cards he does not love baseball cards....I know if I was a millionaire I would buy some nice looking stuff like that to...and yes I would love owning them and be very very proud of them....why not buy the best if you can afford it!!! I would still be a collector at hearth just with better looking cards in my collection.

Adrian, everyone knows the Wags is trimmed. The Harris Mathewson is suspect, the psa10 mantle is tilted, (the "least" of the psa10 52T mantles), The Arron doesn't look perfectly centered and the e90-1 jackson is "off" right to left. Just saying, a true collector could find the same cards with as good or better eye appeal for a lot less money.....unless they are buying the grade and not the card. Dave :)

Ah OK...I did not know that....to me they simply look better than the cards I own....that is why I still have a lot to learn.

My cat yes he is doing a lot better thanks. He is 19 he is a Russian Blue. His last year outside was last summer now he just wants to be inside with me and go on the balcony. He would walk beside everywhere I would go people here where amazed when I tell him no he understands. He would walk on the sidewalks right beside me and every where else as well (of course I had to watch out for dogs and any other type of predator). He would NEVER run away he has always been like that....he NEVER bites either.

He was a great hunter as well I saw him do some crazy things to outsmart some bigger animals like squirrels. I would see him hide in the top of ceder hedges just waiting for a bird to land that was like 6 feet high.

Adrian, My Bro', you would like to own the grade condition and not the actual aesthetics of the image? A really great pose but Jackson's face is kind of, I dunno, indistinct? With ultimate respect to anyone who owns an E90-1 Jackson (and I wouldn't turn one down) you would do better with a CJ Jackson in a lesser grade.

ullmandds 05-25-2013 06:31 PM

Amazing cards...despite the fact they are practically new...I prefer handled cards myself!!!

regarding the joe jackson e90-1...you can put lipstick on a pig...er I mean e90-1 joe jackson...but it'll still be a pig!:D

Zone91 05-25-2013 06:33 PM

That bad guys!!! I will never own a Jackson that high but either this year (most likely in a few months) or early next year I will for sure buy one graded a 2. The problem will be finding one when I will be ready to make a deal....they do not come up that often above 1's.

I'm not a cracker jack guy, but a cj jackson would be nice.
The e90-1 jackson is a great card when the registration is on and the lavendar color background is bright.
Overall I would prefer a e90-1 jackson.

Silk purse out of a sow's ear? I actually had a dentist tell me that when I was 19, many decades ago. I'm still a sow. :D

Peter, I think Joe's good to go now. Just needs a nose job and rid the rouge:

ullmandds 05-26-2013 08:41 AM
