1969 Rawlings - R. Jackson

Also, I see individuals, that are Reggie collectors, have them on their want list; listed as follows:

1969 Rawlings #1 Reggie Jackson 3X5 B/W Rawlings Card Ad

Don't have a picture of this particular card.

The only two listed in the 2007 Sports Collectors Digest are Mantle and Reggie Jackson. The listing notes that it includes minor league statistics and suggests to me that there are full statistics included on the back. Unfortunately, the guide does not include any images.

A friend owns a Mantle and it looks and feels like a period piece. My one concern is that the Mantle (identical to the one pictured) has slightly different language printed on the back than the Brooks I am assuming you are asking about. Specifically, it has the reprinted line in a different place, and the Mantle notes that it was "printed in Japan." So, I am stumped about the issue.

I've searched at length for pictures of the Reggie Jackson as a comparison piece but could not find.

I’m resurrecting this old thread because I found 3 of these cards in my old childhood collection. The Mantle has been discussed above, but the other two seem to be unknown. The Reichart card is 1/4” longer than the others and has a slightly different back (no Printed in Japan text). Anybody know anything about these? Thanks,
Dave

More updated information on the Rawlings cards

Information just acquired at the Nationals, 2024 cleveland. According to John Ramirez(widely known collector and dealer, whose booth was almost directly infront of the entrance into nationals this year) he stated that the rawlings card from what he could remember was not associated with a glove. Instead it was used as a promotional item and handed out at an event like a card show/memorabilia show. He wasn't sure how many existed. He was quite confident from memory that the cards were low budget and poorly printed....also on a personal note from myself, I helped a dealer discover that he actually owned the reggie jackson one. LOL, he still three years later won't sell it. But says I am the first he will offer it to, he is the only one to have submitted a rawlings reggie to psa :(:(:(, I also know the person who has the only sgc example. Hopefully someday I can obtain one.

I’m not sure that John is correct. I got mine as a 12 year old at a sporting goods store in Southern California in 1969 when I bought some cleats for PopWarner football. I can’t remember if they were in the box or at the register. I never went to a card show, but I guess it’s possible that they gave them away there too, but I would think more copies would be around if they gave them out to collectors.
