Beware W590 Lou Gehrig Fraud!

Not sure why someone thinks they can get away with this and luckily the auction ended with no bids, but this seller posted my EXACT card with EXACT SGC serial number, for sale on ebay.

I contacted him and he claimed dumb and when I confronted him with both item numbers he then got defensive and said he was a lawyer and going to sue me.

A lawyer? Then why attempt something unethical?

His item number: 251733044401

My item that has been in my store for over a year: 371002447727

Anyway a very Happy Holiday Season to all and please keep on your toes for these undesirables trying to do no good!

Name?

Please share his eBay username so that we can all avoid his auctions in the future.

Also, maybe we can start a thread listing all the bogus eBay sellers and their infractions in one list so we all can avoid heartache and financial misfortune when using eBay.

Just a thought, as it would be helpful and in some cases might be downright laughable at what people are trying to pull off!

You can get his ID when you pull up the item number I listed as his in my post. That way he can't sue me :)

Sean1125 12-08-2014 09:16 AM

E-bay username chrislee1-2013

"Based on the facts"

In my opinion the auction is "no good".

Sue me.

Well not sure how that was going to work since lawyer boy was already on my blocked bidder's list, too funny.

danmckee 12-08-2014 09:31 AM

Actually if he would have told me that was what he was doing, I probably wouldn't have cared.

I made that assumption since his price was higher than yours... I'd be willing to bet that I'm right (even though with fees the math doesn't work).

Dan,

I don't want to get too technical, but he would not have a case to sue you either way... You have not caused him undue damage, committed liable, slander, fraudulently stated or made up facts.

He would have no grounds and could not prove damages as he was committing fraud by offering YOUR property for sale without your knowledge.

Additionally his eBay user agreement would most likely bar him from such action against you as he was in 100% violation of the terms of that agreement.

Finally, this is America and we all should note that anyone can sue anyone else at anytime for anything they want... A court will then hear the case or at least read the response from the defendant in regard to the complaint.

In any case, we should not be afraid to out con-men, grifters, thieves, crooks, scoundrels or the like... I still like my idea for an eBay warning thread.

Most definitely it is the guy selling it now. chrislee just blurred up the same scan and nearly doubled the price.

Like has been mentioned. Guy is probably clumsily dipping his feet into a form of drop-shipping, that will not turn out well for him. Just looking at his feedback he's most likely another slip-up or two from being booted from Ebay.

His strategy for the Gehrig card makes no sense at all. He'll lose money after the fees.

And he says it comes with a letter of authentication? I wonder who wrote the letter? Maybe the same person that says this card is graded by PSA/DNA. An absolute dumbass....

At this moment there's a weasley-looking guy with severe B.O., sitting in a coffee shop in Milwaukee where he was too cheap to buy a cup of coffee, using free internet to sell stuff he doesn't own.
