Birmingham Auctioneers Fall Schedule and Call for Consignors!

Birmingham Auctioneers has a VERY busy fall and huge plans for the new year! We have five live auctions between now and Christmas!

A little bit about us. The company was started by David Birmingham in 1983. David has called auctions for some of the biggest names in the business and has hosted hundreds of his own auctions over the years. I was a frequent attendee of Dave's auctions and as he started approaching an age where he'd like to slow down we got together to talk about the future.

Subsequently I went to school to get my auctioneer's license, and am taking over in January. Dave will still be around calling auctions but the day-to-day burden of the running the business and decision-making will fall to me. This spring I started the Parsippany PAL auction in conjunction with Joe Drelich's show the first Tuesday of every month. We have had a number of nice cards pass through, especially for a small, start-up auction. A number of Net 54 members have been consignors and have had positive experiences.

Our dates are as follows:

Parsippany, NJ PAL Campbelltown, PA

October 3rd November 4th

November 7th November 25th

December 5th

The October 3rd at Parsippany auction has some great pre-war material including a T206 Mathewson White Cap and more. Also lots from an amazing autograph collection that we've been working our way through.

November 4th at Campbelltown (near Hershey) has a lot of Mantle cards as well as an uncut 1960 Fleer Football Sheet which contains the complete set!

November 7th at Parsippany should finish off the autograph collection including Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Cochrane, Elston Howard and much more as well as some great vintage O-PEE-CHEE Hockey and 50's baseball. We are still accepting consignments for this auction.

November 25th back at Campbelltown starts with nearly 50 pre-war HOF cards from Goudey and Diamond Stars and has a large number of autographs from another single collector, all certified!

December 5th at Parsippany I haven't really started on yet so we definitely have room if you are interested in submitting.

January 13th at Campbelltown will be my first auction as owner. I am trying to make it something special and just got in a consignment of 108 1939 Play Ball cards with HOF'ers and High Numbers. I also have the Notebook cover that I have posted previously (Milan, Cobb, Wood, Collins, LaJoie) and a number of nicer tobacco cards as well as a large number of 1952 Bowman including Mays. I am definitely interested in items for this sale as well.

Finally we are looking at doing our first "Premium" auction late 2018. We are hoping to bring in some higher-end items and will do things a little differently for this event.

With the many auction house options you have today why should you consign with us? First you will get my personal attention, not a hireling, and not some disinterested office worker. I personally will work with you through the whole process. Second, The auction has been around since 1983, and I have been in the industry as a dealer since I was 14 doing Mall Shows in the Poconos over 30 years ago Dave and I have seen it all, over the years, and also have long lists of contacts. When the right items come up, we can get the right people there! Finally and frankly, we are happy to handle items that the big boys turn down flat. I have already had three consignors come to us after being passed on by the large auction houses.

We will happily sell your $50 item individually and try and get you the best return possible instead of grouping it. While we have no problem selling 4 and occasionally 5 figure items we are definitely the place you can bring your T206 commons in VG, your 1963 Hank Aaron in EX etc...

Anyway, I have gotten to know a number of you and I greatly appreciate all the support the board has shown me. To find out more message me here on Net 54. For our auction schedule go here: http://www.birminghamauctioneers.com

I have a passion for cards and for people, give me a try and put my passion to work for you!

Good luck!!

Good luck Scott and thanks for letting Net54baseball help spread the word. I will happily give a glowing endorsement of the consignment I had in your last auction. It did well and I received my commission check in a very short amount of time. THere is nothing like doing good and easy business when selling your cards. You were great to work with and I am sure I will work with you again in the future.

Well if you were considering coming and didn't you missed some huge bargains tonight!

Aquarian Sports Cards 11-03-2017 06:03 PM

Hey Guys,

Don't forget our November 4th Hershey live auction tomorrow and our November 7th at the Parsippany PAL show. Lots of great stuff! Also keep your eyes open for the November 25th and January 13th Hersey auctions as they both contain a LOT of prewar material! Just took in a Harrington's Ice Cream Stan Coveleski(e) for the 25th!

Also still looking for consignments for December's PAL auction, low flat rates, not a percentage!!!

Thanks,

Scott

Great Auction

Went to this auction for the first time today, very nice. A couple of deals were sprinkled in here and there, but I thought prices were generally strong for consigners. Very well run as well!!

Dave

I agree i thought the prices today were mostly rather strong, a few bargains but not many. I of course think the lots i bought went cheap but thats why i bought them (lol) as there was nothing i felt i needed to have.
