Truth! Ripken rookies? 84 Fleer update? 89 UD Griffey? Ozzie Topps traded? I think the Ozzie traded card is over looked. A PSA 9 can be had for under $90. He went into the hall as a Cardinal. It is his first card as a Cardinal. The print run for the traded set is much smaller.

Topps Tiffany cards come to mind for baseball. There were lots of good ones in the 80's. Mattingly, Bo, Bonds, McGwire, Maddux, Glavine, etc....

It's not the greatest era ever, but obviously there are tons of valuable baseball cards from the 1980s, starting with the Henderson rookie and running through all the Griffey rookies.

BioCRN 07-07-2023 05:28 PM

Been holding onto a 80 Henderson for a while because it's not a high priority, but while it's not a 10, I doubt it's below the $199 limit.

The rest I'd like to have slabbed aren't worth it for the cost anymore. I miss the $6 specials, but that's a long-gone era even though it wasn't that long ago. I'm just playing the waiting game while they slowly trickle to market. I don't mind waiting. Gotta hunt something or you're done collecting.

1987 Topps is picking up steam as well, Bo, Canseco, Mattingly, Bonds base PSA 10 are all over $100 now, with another handful coming up just under $100 like Nolan, McGwire. If you count Traded base you get Maddux and McGriff as well just under the $100 mark.

Dunno if I would qualify this as a special that many people are likely excited to see offered. This would be far more appropriate a special, imo, if PSA were offering more specials on a regular basis.

Max value is $ 199 ea. How do they determine value ? Isn't it based on the Grade you get on the card ? What value do you put on it when you send it in ?

Are professional wrestling cards considered "sports cards" for this promo?

bobbyw8469 07-08-2023 06:19 AM

They lump wrestling into this grouping, "BOXING/WRESTLING CARDS/MMA", which I would expect means they're sports cards.

You predict the grade you expect and value it that way (or 1 grade less). If the final value drastically exceeds your service level, they'll upcharge the order for the difference in service levels.

Perhaps if they have a slab that accommodates an entire set.
