Brian... Thank you for posting the link to Mr. Moon's obituary. Wally had a fine career: .289 lifetime batting average, multi-year All-Star selection, gold glove, league-leadership in triples (1959) and OBP (an outstanding .434 in '61) and almost always near .300 batting and .450 slugging. Just an all-around excellent player and outstanding human being. I never met him, but a couple friends tell me he was an absolute gentleman. He also had an excellent career, and I heard stories about his famous "Moon shots" at the L.A. Coliseum while growing up in Southern California in the 1970s. Rest in peace, Wally ...
