I guess it should be called D over B variation since the D was the corrected letter.
I have never seen a fully connected B under the D. All have been broken in the middle and the curve of the D is noticeably straighter. If you look at your PB example you can see what looks to be the upper curve of the B extending past the D typeset. It was probably easier to make a small change to a letter than it was to remove and reset rows of type |
