T206 Advice Trim?

I got this Rossman Sovereign 350 of e-bay the other day. I compared it to few other cards and can't tell if it's trimmed or if the slight diamond cut is playing with the length. I compared it to some regular backs and card appears hair short, not much at all. But when I compared it to other Sovereign's it appears to be ok taking into account for the diamond cut. Can any with a good set of eyes see if it looks ok. I know hard to do from a scan. I contacted the e-bay seller and he swears it's not trimmed, and will take the card back if needed... Thanks in advance... Ralph

Looks fine to me.

The quality control on size wasn't very good so there are lots of cards that are larger or smaller than the official size.

I agree that the card looks good, just a bad cut.

Looks normal for a T206

corners are all evenly rounded, which goes against it being trimmed. from the front view, seems I can appreciate the the diamond slant on the top edge better than the bottom. but from the back view can also appreciate the slant along the bottom. so looks kosher to me.

Agreed. Not trimmed. Nice card!

The trick to telling if a T206 is trimmed is by looking at the actual edges of the card -- compare the striations that the factory knife made on each side. If three look brown, and one looks white, that's a bad sign. Also, the edges of t206 cards should not be perfectly square, front then side then back. You should notice a slight bevel on, I believe, two of the edges.

rounded corner and diamond cut = not trimmed

I checked and all edges appear to have same coloring/toning and bevel. Guess the diamond cut was playing tricks. Thanks to all for the help... Thx Ralph

First, I think it's a good looking card.

In my experience, diamond cut cards would have the opposite edges/sides parallel. Were that card diamond cut, the bottom would be parallel to that non-perpendicular top. But it isn't. So I'd not consider that a diamond cut. I know little about grading, other than I don't trust it and don't care for it. It would not surprise me if SGC or PSA considered that card miscut. Not trimmed, but miscut. Again, I think it's a good looking white border tobacco card. If you do send that in for grading, post the outcome in this thread, please.

If the only crease is the one visible on the left side of the card in the scan, SGC will put that in an SGC 40 holder. If there are additional wrinkles, it would be either a 20 or a 30.

That's the only crease in the card. I will probably submit to SGC in the next couple of weeks, I have some other stuff to go in as well. I will re-post with update when I get it back. Thanks for the help... Ralph
