What are these?

Am trying to help someone ID some cards he has. I've never seen them before and don't see anything comparable on PSA site. Based on player selection I have to assume late 1930s or early 1940s.

Attachment 356203

Other players he has include Cuccinello, Camilli, McCormick, and Clift. As Camilli is Adolf and not Dolph, am guessing pre-WW2! :)

Here is a thread about this issue that had some recent comments. I believe it is from 1940.

Which I imagine Camilli shifted toward at the start of American involvement in WW2, due to the bad taste that 'Adolph' would leave in the mouths and minds of the American wartime public.

Yes, the name Adolf/Adolph fell out of favor quickly!

I worked with a guy born in the decades after WWII in Germany. The name Adolf became as unpopular in Germany as anywhere else in the world.

In fact, going back several generations this guy's father/ grandfather/ greatgrandfather, etc were all named Adolf.

His parents named him Ulf instead. It is a nordic/scanandavian version of the German name.

More useless information brought to you by Net54...

Who owns the cards?

I wonder what relationship these cards have to the 1939 exhibit set? All the poses I've seen are the same.

Those are very, very tough to find. They are known as Diamond Dust punchboard cards but we haven't been able to find a punchboard that actually has them in it.

PSA pop on these is under 10 cards. BTW, the two shown are trimmed so they would "A". The full cards look like this:

Would you mind putting them in touch with me or Exhibitman? We are trying to find the origin of these cards
