T206 Cobb Red Portrait Tolstoi on eBay - Fishy Flip?

Does this PSA flip look fishy to anyone else?

Wow... i wouldn't go anywhere near that home made flip!

Right... and who goes out of their way to say this??
"The seal on the card has not been tampered with, ensuring authenticity."

Distant photos through a plastic bag should help hide the frost.

Judging by the corners in the back scan. This could be a skin and paste job.

Now I believe I have seen this same exact card, with the same exact flip 3 times now, but this is a "different seller".

I asked last night for a better scan of the card without the bag, and for a clear pic of the flip. Also asked if they would end early for $1800 money order sent express mail.

Better pic of the flip now at least. Seller wanted to research ebay rules for ending early.

Same card sold May 7 this year for $860 to sportsgraffs by shiznityz28. IIRC that seller is on my "stay away" list.

.........

Very strange for sure....................nothing in the sellers feedback gives me any confidence either.

Look at the waviness of the baggy in the sleeve... it doesn't match from auction to auction... either it's a different slab, or it has been tampered with... wonder if there's more than one of the frankenflips out there.

Maybe it's just the plastic bag or the poor picture, but to me the Tolstoi back almost looks like it's printed in light blue ink like a Piedmont would be.

Looks weird to me

The cert number matches a known PSA/Tolstoi Cobb in a '3'. So at least the seller got the number correct....but it just doesn't seem right. I'd sit this one out for sure!

Best,
Scott

Even if the card were good, I don't know why anyone would want to pay > $1750 for it. I sold my T206 Red Cobb w/ Tolstoi back that was SGC 3, and including BP, it went for ~$1200 in a recent Goodwin auction. Mine did have focus issues, but not > $500 of focus issues.
