Not sure

If he sold to Brian or just put him in charge. Either way Brian is the right man for the job. As honest as anyone in the field. I am sure he will continue the great reputation REA has.

So who is Robert Edward? Does that name get passed on like the Dread Pirate Roberts?

I always assumed Edward was Rob's middle name.

dstudeba 01-22-2016 11:20 AM

Congratulations to both Rob and Brian. I have always enjoyed Rob's auctions, and I am an unabashed huge fan of Brian Dwyer.

1952boyntoncollector 01-22-2016 11:34 AM

Your Princess Bride comment may have been lost in the shuffle...........

This is the end of an era. No one in the auction field has the card knowledge or the contacts that Rob has. I really like Brian, but I can't imagine the catalog write-ups not suffering when Rob leaves. Sounds like Christmas has come early to Dallas.

Dallas did not need Christmas, it has been doing staggeringly well.

Wish I knew this before sending my consignments this week........... :D

(Just kidding Rob and Brian, having spoken with you both several times, I trust the decision and my consignments with them implicitly)

Best of luck in the future Rob, just enjoy life!!!!

Fantastic opportunity for Brian Dwyer and it couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Congratulations, Brian!!! Well earned!

MVSNYC 01-22-2016 02:11 PM

Huge Congrats to Brian (and Rob). Brian is one of the best.

Republicaninmass 01-22-2016 02:14 PM

I think REA should include with their next catalog

A "fan for a fan" with Brian's face on it

One of the good guys in the hobby, and there are FEW

REA is in great hands... Brian is one of the most respected guys in the hobby, even if he does still look 20....;).

Be well Brian

Delighted for Brian. Rob will be missed; I still have utmost respect for REA, as both a frequent bidder, and a less frequent consignor.

Congrats to Brian and Rob. REA will be in good hands.....

Al C.risafulli 01-22-2016 05:36 PM

Best of luck to Brian, who we all know will do well.

But a hearty THANK YOU to Rob Lifson, who has put together some of the finest auctions and most incredible experiences that a hobbyist could hope to enjoy. It's been a privilege to participate in Rob's auctions on a number of different levels, and I'm proud to have had the opportunity to know him. From the standpoint of an auctioneer, he's set an extremely high bar for the rest of us. From the standpoint of a hobbyist, he's made it awfully fun to be a collector.

Very best wishes to Rob for an enriching future.

+1. Rob was one of, if not THE most ethical man in the hobby, and Brian has always been accessible to answer my questions before bidding. May REA's wonderful tradition continue!

Best wishes,

Larry

Or, how about Dwyer-REA? That's got a nice ring to it.

Congrats to all involved.

glchen 01-23-2016 10:53 AM

Congrats, Brian! Always had top notch customer service even way back as SGC. Great to see REA in good hands. Happy retirement, Rob!

sago 01-23-2016 11:37 AM

Class acts all around. Best of luck to both.

I anxiously await the Hauls of Shame expose version of events.:p

oldjudge 01-23-2016 12:55 PM

REA+BD=BREAD. It's an appropriate name, they certainly make enough of it.

jbsports33 01-23-2016 03:01 PM

Good luck to both Rob and Brain!
