Posted By: Elliot (pro9)
I have deleted Brandon's message as I believe it is not in the best interests of the board. I will only use this feature on rare occasions. Please let me know if you agree or disagree with the deletion of messages. Additionally, IP addresses can be blocked, but I am more reluctant to use this feature, unless the vast majority of posters demand it.
Thanks, Elliot

Posted By: Anonymous
YES, we want you to delete all messages that are counterproductive and spiteful and not related to vintage cards!

Posted By: HalleyGator
I was logged in, so I didn't know I needed to type in my name.

The LAST thing we need on our NEW board is "anonymous" posters, since they are the ones who screwed up the last board.

Posted By: warshawlaw
Absolutely, ban the trouble makers. I would start with the Wentzes; those guys killed the other board with all their feuding.

Posted By: benge610
Two thumbs up to deleting anonymous and counterproductive messages; I'm hoping there's some middle ground, though on banning individuals. I think that some/many of the tirades that took place may have been avoided by deletion of the pot-stirring anonymous and scurlous attacks. While I don't see eye-to-eye with the Wentz's (for example), I still think they provide some insight about certain areas of the hobby and should be afforded the same courtesy as I or others on the board. Deleting certain inflamatory messages may provide a middle ground for all of us to not get stirred up and stay on topic.

Just my opinion,
Ben.

Posted By: Todd (nolemmings)
Nice to see a board up and running. I have no strong objection to deleting vitriolic posts. However, perhaps the way this board is configured/displayed such posts will be less of a problem. Unlike Full Count, where you had to wade through strings of attacks and scroll up mountains of trash to find something interesting, seems all responses here are more confined and less visible. My thought is that most of the garbage simply can and should be ignored.
Anonymous posts should be presumptively deleted--if someone posts legitimately and forgets to provide a name (I've done it once or twice); they'll just have to "do over".

Posted By: Kevin Cummings
I actually suggested to Mike yesterday that if he had had the tools to easily remove some of the more inflammatory posts and keep out the crackpots entirely, we might not be in this position today. I especially like the idea of being able to block certain addresses so that troublemakers with repeat offenses can be dealt with.

Elliot, I hope you haven't bitten off more than you can chew if you become the "board police", though.

Posted By: vintagecards
I really have to disagree with you here. I think the two biggest problems on the fullcount board were anonymous posts and individuals such as you who had nothing better to do with his time than attack BMW. Personally, I find it irritating that you would choose to continue your private agenda here. You must really have some serious insecurity issues. You don't have to take my advice, but for the good of all current members who post here, I really think you should stop your nonsense right now!
