1915 Cracker Jack ?

Posted By: Trevor (snider4prez)
I have been putting together the 1915 Cracker Jack set for some time now. I just got a pretty large group of them in. When I was going through them I noticed that a few of the cards were smoother in texture than the rest. I have seen the reprint set that looks the same as the regular issue but thicker card stock and a almost gloss to them. With these cards that is not the case. They are the same construction like thin paper, but don't have as rough of a texture as most 1915's I've come across. Now I know that the 1914 issue was produced with a thinner card stock than the 15's, but these are definitely 1915's (176 back). If any of you have ever run across some examples like these please drop me a line. Any other information on what might have caused this, or was it produced that way, would be greatly apprecated. 1915 Cracker Jack ?

Posted By: Scott Forrest
Trevor - what is the allowable size variance on these cards? I read on an old post that the 1915's should be within 1/64" of the published size, but I have one that's off by more than this (maybe 1/32) and I'm almost certain it's not trimmed (no reason to trim this one).
