question about REA Mantle picture pack item

Item 1768 in the REA auction last night was a picture pack of Mantle swinging a bat. It was SGC graded and described as a 1962 picture pack. There is currently a PSA graded one just like this one on eBay, but it is described by PSA as 1955-57 picture pack.

Anyone know whether it is 1962 or 1955-57?

Can you post a picture?

You definitely can't trust everybody's favorite opinion seller when it comes to details like the dates or even the issuer for these types of items.

Is it this picture pack photo? According to TCDB it is a 1961 Sports Service pack photo, SGC is nearly correct.

Yes, that is the picture pack photo that I am referring to.

Trading Card Database www.tcdb.com

Now that no one publishes a standard catalog, it's probably the most comprehensive source of checklists available

First I've heard of the TCDB, it's quite a site.

It's coverage of the m113 / m114 set is pretty minimal, but as I approach 800 posters that I believe I know the release date for, I think I may try to change that.

Well, maybe not.

I attempted to add the first of what I hoped would be many m113 / m114 issues to the TCDB site and received a message that "Magazine posters are not eligible for inclusion here".

Evidently the person sending that message wasn't in charge of allowing the 1943 Baseball Magazine posters (which I uploaded scans of the ones they don't have pictures of), or the various m101 supplement issues that are listed, or the Police Gazette m128, or etc, etc.

I got reprimanded there a couple of years ago for listing this set of 1969 Chicago Cubs Iron-Ons because they are a "food issue". When I pointed out that they allowed a similar set of 1968 Detroit Tigers Iron-Ons to be on the site they showed me who was boss, they removed the 1968 Tigers set too.

I fully expect similar treatment, oh well, I'll still answer messages / emails / smoke signals from anybody requesting info on the m113 / m114 sets with any help I can provide. I have about 900 of them dated so far.
