Sad News - Steve Ruskowski

Most of you won't know Steve as he was basically a NJ Native and I don't think he traveled out of state but he had a card store in Teaneck NJ for 38 years and we lost him today to Pancreatic Cancer.

One reason I am planning (HaShem and Covid-19 willing) to go to the AC NSCC no matter what this year was to see people like Steve. It's been too long since I was back in my home state of New Jersey

I'm truly saddened to hear of his passing

I've been to that store (if it's the one I'm thinking of that's on the corner). Sad news. Sorry to hear this.

sorry to hear it

God Bless all the dealers who have made it for decades with a storefront giving us collectors a place to drop in, chat a little, buy a little and trade crazy stories. Can you imagine what some of them have to put up with on a daily basis..... guy spends an hour going through the 25 cent box, pulls 2 cards.... okay that will be 50 cents.... "Could you do any better?" sheesh.... sorry to hear we lost one of the guys that kept this hobby strong in the leaner years and in the good times.

Drove to his store once. What a trip that was. Like I entered a time vortex and was standing back in 1975. Nice guy. Rest in peace.

I knew Steve for a long time from going to his store. Good guy and always interesting conversations. RIP Steve.

Damn - sorry to hear this. Been in there a bunch of times in the past, but probably not at all in the last 10 years.

He was clearly a throwback. The store was short on neatness, but long on old inventory. And he seemed to generally know where everything was!

RIP

Didn't know him, but always sad to hear of one of the long-time folks in the hobby passing. RIP, Steve.
