1 HOUR left! Birmingham Auctioneers First Online Auction

This is a paid ad.

While this auction doesn't have a great vintage selection there are a couple Koester's Bread including George Kelly and a few other prewar cards. The real strength of this sale is in the thousands of autographs.

These autographs encompass all the major sports, Olympic athletes, Boxers, and even a few entertainment figures. Hundreds of them have been authenticated by Mike Root of CAS.

Some highlights are Muhammad Ali, Satchell Paige, Sandy Koufax, and a handwritten note from Johnny Unitas.

We offer free pick up at our live auction in Hershey, PA on September 29th and at Chantilly 10/13-10/15. We also offer free shipping on all orders over $500.

We have an incredible slate of live and online auctions upcoming this fall including a MASSIVE non-sport auction and a pre-war auction both online in October and November respectively.

Please check us out!

Hey Scott, looks like a great auction. Curious, how is the auction going to close?

Aquarian Sports Cards 09-18-2018 07:49 PM

Sorry, I was running around all day (another story which will eventually make it's way to the board!)

The auction starts to close at 8pm on Sunday the 23rd. Lot one closes at 8pm and each subsequent lot closes 10 seconds later. The items do operate on a soft close on an individual basis. If there's a bid in the last 5 minutes that item (and that item only) extends for 5 minutes.

Also a couple other questions have been asked so here's answers in case anyone else was curious.

It is an absolute auction with NO RESERVES and over 99% of the items start at $1

As for the autograph authentication, hopefully a number of people on the board are familiar with Mike Root and his company CAS. If you're not:

Mike Root was a former lead authenticator for JSA. After he left there SGC contacted him about creating their autograph division, which he did. When SGC moved to Florida he didn't want to uproot so he left the company and formed his own. CAS - Certified Authentication Services. If you are a member of any of the autogrph boards you will see he is widely, if not universally respected for his knowledge, and especially his integrity. He is set up at all the major shows and is very accessible. His website is http://www.casauthentication.com/ and he has an easy to use verification program right on the home page where you can look up all his certs.

Any other questions feel free to PM or post!

just looked at your website. you’ve curated an impressive auction.

Thanks! Actually it's the second part of one man's collection, so not a lot of curating lol. We did the first half live which was more card oriented. He had a kidney transplant a number of years ago and while he was fighting off rejection and recuperating he passed the time writing away to EVERYONE which is how he assembled the insane autograph collection. Then when his health recovered he started getting balls, bats, caps etc done live.

Less than 12 hours left. I know there's not a ton of prewar in this auction (but wait there will be soon!) but there's unbelievable bargains on graded modern rookies, bulk lots of jersey cards, autographed cards, photos, balls and more. It's a cherry pickers heaven!
