"Long Island National" Hostra Show this weekend
Anyone going?
This is the first time I remember them having a big show on Long Island in December. They just had a big one this past October. ususally I thought the big winter one was in White Plains. Maybe they're changing their schedule now for the big Hofstra shows? I guess Mike Tyson, Hollyfield,Lamotta and Joe Montana, Frank Robinson, Barry Larkin and other will be there. I don't usually get autographs at the show but it's a pretty good grouping there. I'm planning on going tomorrow, hoping for a decent show... |
Every time I go to one of the LI shows there is a box at the gate to make suggestions for future signers. Every time I write Mike Tyson. Finally, they get Tyson and of course I have to be out of the state this weekend. Ahhhhhh!!!!! I blame this on the Grinch.

Will the show be all three days - Fri, Sat and Sun?
Thanks Jimmy |
I usually attend the October show if I am looking to fill in a pesky gap in the collection. Otherwise I go the smaller shows, the next one I'll be going to will be January 11th. Jim Ryan runs a really nice show with some great dealers. There is plenty of vintage cards in all price ranges to satisfy everyone.

Link? Says long island national was 10/25 and 10/26. However, the long island Sunday show is 12/14

I'll be there - Sunday only.

Looks like a special holiday version of the bigger show. We'll see how it looks but my impression of the April "National" at Hofstra was that it had shrunk a bit from prior years. The venue itself though was nicer and much more well lit than when compared to the old "Nationals" there.
If I can get away I may go Sunday but it looks iffy right now. |
Didn't realize they were calling it a 'national'. Thought it was just the smaller Hofstra show that they do several times a year. Anyway, plan on being there around 11:45 on Saturday. Going w/ my 3 year old - gunna pick up a box of inexpensive cards for him to give to his classmates for show and tell : )
Shoot me message if anyone wants to meet up... |
Dropped by today after the autograph guests were done. I think I might have been the only non-dealer in the building...which is not the student center, even though the website stated it was ("Show has moved to David S. Mack Student Center").
Overall, sad show, not worth the trip from Manhattan, and very little pre-war to even look at. Steve |
Hi. Anyone on the boards going to this show?? I'll be there. Not sure when yet...
|
I will be going

I want to go on Sunday. I want to meet Felix Millian. I met him during the summer of 1974 when he came to a camp I was at.
|
I'll likely be there tomorrow morning/early afternoon . . . proudly sporting my new Net54 T-shirt! :D
